2015 Honda Fit vs. 2015 Toyota Yaris

I own both Yaris and Fit, the two manufacturers have totally different approach, when it comes to reliability Toyota is unbeatable and especially Yaris, and everything is related to that matter.
Honda Fit on the other hand indeed is more cool has more features, unique design, but I don't know I the FIT can make it above 300k km.
Just food for thought, Time will tell, you still see 1999 Yaris and Starlet in the road, while to see such old cars form other brands is pretty unusual.

Toyota Yaris easier to maintain. and also cheaper. It probably last longer aswell with just how simple it is.

2019 Yaris was the worst car I ever drove. GUTLESS at stop lights. That BRAND NEW car pissed me off. I bought a 2008 Honda FIT instead with the automatic (36 mpg). I can't believe Yaris is actually going backwards.

I find it amusing you say they are desirable when nearly every subcompact is gone in the US. Im thinking of buying a used Fit however.

Only a young person would complain about a 4 speed automatic, comparing to other cars which have "twice the number of gears!". You know what often kills older cars? A failed transmission. Which do you think would be more reliable - a bullet proof 4 speed or a "new, improved" 8 speed?

Whichever one you get, make sure it has a stick shift.
Both are super reliable and easy to maintain.

My fit is a little beast

Toyota for non car guy and Honda for car guy. But, fit is bigger inside that's why people love it.

Yaris is the way to go if you are buying an economy hatch because that is exactly what the yaris is. More simple, less maintenance than the fit or any of its competitors and will last the longest.

The fit looks like a rolling jelly bean or like a Mini minivan. 😐

The Yaris is made in Japan, while the fit in Mexico, and the CVT vs gears in the Toyota. To me those two are big enough to say the Yaris is better

On reliability alone, the Yaris is the winner.

The 1978 Honda Civic was getting 40mpg all around driving in 1987, as a 9 year old car. I know because it was my first car. I checked the millage often and never seen worse than 40mpg. Why can't they make a new car that gets that kind of gas millage today?

Both are very good,my mother has a 2006 Honda jazz and i now have a 2015 Yaris 1.3L Cvt Icon model. I did have a 2002 Yaris GLS auto for 13yrs,it was awesome!

Retrospectively, didn't Honda experience massive failures with this generation of Fit's transmissions? I seem to remember production location changing and QC tanking.

My honda fit 2020 is beautiful and not slow at all. Supper fast for such a small engine. Obviously not compared to my charger 2007 hemi with over 300 horse power.

Honda didnt switch to a CVT, they've always had CVT's. Not everyone wants an automatic transmission.

CVTs are garbage. 4 speed automatic is fine, I don't see anything wrong with it.

Toyota 4 speeds are rumored to last forever.

Fit feels like a real car, Yaris is too small, 4 speed with 20 year old technology that came in 1999 Toyota Echo !

Tons of Yaris on the used car market since majority sold were rental/fleet cars. This means they can be bought dirt cheap. If you were an unlucky fool who bought one new and want to sell, you're screwed.

I don't care about look or space. I want a car that's going to last. And if it needs to be maintained i want a car that's easy to do myself.

Honda automatic transmission give more problems plus this one its a new one so its gonna have its problems

2015 Yaris was the worst car I've ever driven in my life. It grates and vibrates like a blender. Stand on the pedal to have any acceleration at all. Brakes were just ok. The suspension is barely there as in you feel every little bump. No legroom in the front seat either. The car didn't feel safe at all. It did get good gas mileage and that's it

Indeed, the choice is easy here. The yaris looks miserable. The main thing is that it has a Toyota logo to mislead the public.
