Why are soft skills defined as interpersonal skills? Why not just call them interpersonal skills? I have nothing invested in this but it feels like someone hijacked the terms.

"great idea" to realy stupid ideas...

Since most bosses dont like it when you become creative because then they lose theire controle...

So mostly about accepting that your opinion isnt wanted (even If it would double the income) shut up and be bussy.

I mean you obviously don't NEED both soft and hard skills to be successful. It will help in most situations tho. Think I'll just tack on the fact as well that not everyone works to get a good job or works at all in "better" jobs. Classism is a beech. You can work yourself to the bone and only get a 4 cent raise after years. You can have a medical emergency and sink under the debt. Likewise, you can take college loans and sink under that debt as well. The system is highly imperfect and needs to be changed.

The great thing about soft skills is that you can take them with you; they are always in demand, especially by hiring managers and especially now. WSJ, Forbes, and others emphasize them above hard skills. We need both, but soft skills are highly portable, especially if you can demonstrate them.

If soft skill are so dominan, then why hard skill are expensive to learn?
You didnt explain where does the 85% come from, you underestimate hard skill. Having good colleague is nice, but if they are not capable then why hiring them in the first place?

Interesting video. Couldn't you classify some Skills as both Hard and Soft Skills? I was thinking that Accountability could be learned both through education and social situations. Is there a separate category for these sort of situations?

Soft skills more difficult to develop than hard skills? Nah, I don't agree with it at all. I also don't agree when you say hard skills are easier to assess by looking into ones' academic records. Just because one has good credits in Bcom doesn't mean he/she is a very good accountant.
