Gotta be careful with the 2nd last tip where you boost volume with a gain plugin instead of soloing, as long as you don't have compressors on your stereo buss this should be an accurate way of doing it and I'm happy you pointed it out. But if you have 2 buss processing it will make the compressor act in an unusual way.
ОтветитьGreat video, thanks a lot! 🙏🏼
Ответитьhow do you turn on and off all of your plugins so quickly? I can't seem to get it to work like that. (the way you do it seems to work for muting and unmuting multiple tracks as well.)
ОтветитьI have one question wich no one ever answers. Do i cut the lows of things before i balance the volume? Because i feel like just cutting the lows of the things that should not have lows will make them sound weaker and then your balancing is ruined. Cut lows before balancing or balancing before cutting lows?
ОтветитьINCREDIBLE. thank you so much
ОтветитьIs there a difference between using the gain plugin, vs the gain in the inspector region, to change volume while using the VU meter?
ОтветитьI can't see my drum FX suiti f my bass track though re buses
ОтветитьI report good things from reference tracks
ОтветитьTip 22: sit treemanZoneskull in the corner of studio and keep feeding him narcotics til he starts talking
Ответитьcan you bounce bus tracks in logic seperatly fro the master like pro tools and cubase?
ОтветитьSome mixing takes over months and years...
ОтветитьHi! Nice video. However for Orchestral music panning automation is not valid, am I right? In orchestral music you try to simulate the seating location of each section on stage.
ОтветитьWith using the two room reverbs, would those be in addition to any other reverbs used on individual tracks, or would that be overkill since you’d have tracks with at least three reverbs?
ОтветитьThank you for this video. As a very new “newby”to audio engineering/producing of around 2 weeks, this has been the most useful video I have found so far. You have provided a ton of free knowledge that I’m sure will be priceless. Thank you so much for sharing your expertise while helping us novices become the best we can be.
ОтветитьExcellent video. Thank you. The automation tip will save me so.much time!
ОтветитьThank you, thank you, thank you! I really wish I had seen this video 2 years ago. Great tips can't wait to get to work.
ОтветитьThe Serial compression tip is awesome. Serial limiting is also really great if you want a loud ass mix that isn't crushed by one limiter with extreme settings.
ОтветитьHave you done a video applying these and similar techniques to mixing orchestral samples?
ОтветитьAll pretty much logic... Glad I skipped through but in the end for those who have no idea or feeling a great video. :D
ОтветитьQuestion for anyone : I have recorded onto stand alone digital units for about a decade (1st - Tascam DP008 EX, at present a Zoom R20). I’m avoiding laptops/DAWs because of their complexity/potential problems and perhaps, more accurately, because I’m not a ‘computer whiz’. At any rate, I’ve found the more instruments I have in a mix, the more muddy/indistinct they become. I’ve tried to have each track occupy a separate EQ frequency, but it’s still an issue, even with 24 bit. Would this be solved with an expensive separate EQ unit? Or is there no way around it other than to record onto a program?
ОтветитьThis video is a must!
ОтветитьReally frustrating that this video refers to all kinds of stuff "in the description below", and then there is nothing, or I don't know where to look.
ОтветитьI always start with master plugins on the master channel so I know from the start what it's going to sound like .. might sound stupid but it helps .. lots of great tips here
ОтветитьBe careful with that 7th heaven verb plugin it will bash your reverb in your right ear sometimes. Try changing to wet and checking reverb on right and left channel it will pop like 2/10 times.
ОтветитьYou re activated my creativity dude
ОтветитьThank you for making this Vid for Those! :) George Amodei
ОтветитьThis is a great video!
ОтветитьDude this video was very helpful can’t thank you enough!
Ответитьthis is SUPER HELPFUL very wise thanks so much!!!
ОтветитьThis video is SO GOOD. Thank you! Please upload many more. Love from Norway 🇳🇴
ОтветитьBrilliant channel!!! Check it out as long as it’s free))))
ОтветитьThis is super helpful, thank you!
ОтветитьMixing notes
1. Tips in descriptions and cheat sheet
A. Use bussing to save time.
Just so so so so so so useful! Thank so much Dylan
ОтветитьNice tips! Here's another one....When automating, use a gain plugin and automate that instead of using volume control!
ОтветитьWish I could save this to a playlist. No 'Save' button.
ОтветитьReally amazing vdo❤🎉
ОтветитьFinally someone with a different approach than most other tutorials out there. Thank you!
ОтветитьThanks! 🎶
ОтветитьAmazing video
ОтветитьI'm sorry but doing 80% of mixing done in mono is HORRENDOUS. Stop that, immediately 💀💀💀
ОтветитьThank you for synthesising all this valuable information. I appreciate your effort. Happy to find this in the early months of my production.
ОтветитьTwo pieces of advice I can give is ALWAYS save your work as you go! You don't want to lose everything you've done in a session, because of a power failure, computer failure, or whatever. I also keep a second copy of each song, which I update when I'm finished working on the song at the moment. This has saved me, because sometimes I hear something that's suddenly not sounding right, and I want to compare it to a past saved project. In fact, I like to save older versions as well, so I can go back a few weeks & see where my settings were on certain things.
Bottom line: Backing things up & not being afraid to overdo it could save a lot of problems in the future. 😎
Tip #22 (From Bob Marley and the Wailers): Oh, you know what they would say. Seriously though, excellent video with practical tips to apply. Love it.
ОтветитьHaha mixing until 3 am... I'm doing until 7 am!!! 😅
ОтветитьWas good. Thanks!
