Norgips in ArchiCAD tutorial - BIMobject® Talks

In this video we are shown how the products from the scandinavian manufacturer Norgips work in ArchiCAD. You can easily access the objects from the BIMobject® Portal at http://bimobject.com. Please note that when you download an ArchiCAD file from the Portal you get the whole wall series as an lCF file.

After the initial download you can go ahead and load it in to ArchiCAD. At this stage you can not use the walls as if they were furniture objects. These objects are actually developed around a technology that is developed and maintained by ArchiCAD. It's called the accessories tools. Start with downloading and installing the accessories tools.

It's totally free for all ArchiCAD users and it's available under the Help menu -- ArchiCAD 15 Downloads -- this will open a browser window and you can download it to either Windows or iOS. Before the Application can be installed, please make sure that ArchiCAD is turned off. Please make sure that you are installing the Application to the right ArchiCAD version.

Now you'll find new options under Design - Design extras - Accessories - Wall Accessories. If you now choose Wall Accessories, you will now see the full functionality of the object.

The other option is to download the ArchiCAD AAT (ArchiCAD Attribute) file available on the portal. Attribute works a little bit differently, compared to normal objects. To get an AAT-file in to ArchiCAD you simply go to the Options menu -- Element Attributes -- Attribute Manager. Choose the Composite Structures. Choose open on the right hand side -- choose your AAT file. We recommend that you use the Append button and not the overwrite button since this can cause problems if you have another composite structure with the same index number from before.

The objects work very simply, it's a 2D structure. So that means that we get access to them under the Structure Cut Fill in ArchiCAD, under the Composite Structures.
