This minister along with other ministers talks more crap than sense. Why do we have so many incompetent people pretending they are able? Being employed for many years, should I have not delivered I would have been fired. Do your bloody job and stop blaming others.

Its about having competent people in leadership to lead and encourage people to be part of society and make their contribution to a better society. We dont have a great record in previous ministers of goverment being leaders with ethics, accountable with good morals and sound values. The people have sadly learnt from the leadership being corrupt. The mindset of people needs to be adjusted and that can only happen when people of substance with an interest to grow the country for all within being in leadership.

The cause of the water problem is the same as the cause of the electricity problem.

MONOPOLY by the failing state.

The only long term solution is to decentralize and PRIVATISE the provision of services such as water and electricity.

In SA's future there will NEVER be a sophisticated, competent government again with the capacity to manage national or provincial monopolies!

You are on your own!

A witch-hunt on whites ... to fabricate racism!

That's what the SAHRC was created for!

'Black lives matter' ... only when whites committed an offence. But not when blacks commit atrocities eg. killing Xhosa boys at initiation schools, or mob stonings or bundu necklaces ...

SAHRC is a vanity, (propaganda) project created by the communist ideologists to further their devious agenda!

Isn't it time we also do away with the "fire pool syndrome"?

Everyone knows they're lying and yet they think we're stupid and don't understand what they're doing? We roll our eyes, but let them get away with it.

Speak to Veolia (or similar), let them fund and fix the issues (starting with JHB), and allow them to then exploit their work. Of course, the likes of BEE is not exactly an encouragement for them to bite.

Eskom blamed their failures on consumers.....then all of a sudden the load shedding went away and it appears that Eskom is able to produce power... Municipalities are blaming consumers..... it looks like a deliberate attack on we the people.....

Many residents feel ripped off as the rates are excessive and there is no service delivery. The other problem is that many can simply not afford it. There are also others who refuse to pay which has a massive impact on everybody else. Then on top of this is the fraud and corruption at the municipality

During a lecture on the subject, the water engineer who was involved in that mathematical model said that he'd not seen anything as sophisticated elsewhere in the world except China where he'd not been.
He indicated that a major problem was the loss of water through leakages and that the municipalities were not attending to them.
His answers to my questions:
Question a. What is the condition of water infrastructure and maintenance?
Answer: Not good at all!
Question b. What is the state of current skills/competencies to deal with the water infrastructure?
Answer: He could not offer an answer.

He told government officials of the severity of the leakages in the water system.
They couldn’t grasp the meaning of cubic metres per second as a measure of the loss.
He then translated it to the cost of Mercedes Benz cars per period. Suddenly their dull eyes opened.
But little happened for a decade. In 2024 the loss is disastrous!

In the final analysis it boils down to the level of competence of those in the civil service who are earning salaries they don’t deserve and are not qualified to earn🤬 The taxpayer will pay!!!!

If 48% of water is lost, then officials and staff in the department should get paid 48% less per month. If there are communities not paying their bills, then water to those communities should be cut off. There should then be watering points made available where those residents can go and fetch water - and pay for it per litre.

As long as the people guilty of corruption are not prosecuted. This will continue. It’s sickening that they are not held accountable.
