It's therefore ironic that Mr. Kim loses his family and the only happiness he has by killing Mr. Park.

This scene is one of the film's most important because it shows Nathan Park for who he really is and what he really wants. Much like his wife, he is deeply depressed and bored with his life because A. It's empty and uneventful and B. Everything he has is merely to impress, not what he truly wants. His home is state of the art but lifeless and dull, too clean, impersonal and quiet. But he has it to project a certain image. The same goes for his marriage. By societal standards he has the "ideal" wife: outwardly classy, poised, and dutiful. However, Nathan is bored by her because he is bored by perfection. This is the only scene where he seems to genuinely enjoy his wife's company and it's because she's not this prim and proper housewife but a cheap, dirty little slut. A guy dresses in the nicest suits, gets his ass kissed at work all day, lives in a mansion and has a team of staff catering to his needs yet the only thing that gives him pleasure is roleplaying with his wife as the kind of sleaze he's not allowed to be associated with. She clearly likes this too because it gives her a sense of purpose as she has no job and her maternal and housewife duties are taken care of by her servants.
