I think in a couple of years blender is going to be the number one ! Zbrush is old fashioned…
ОтветитьI want to move to blender too but most of company in my country use zbrush😭
ОтветитьThanks, this helps.
ОтветитьBlender is worth way more than $500 that's the annual price of adobe suite.
ОтветитьBlender sucks its glitchy and nothing works like it supposed to
ОтветитьI have been looking for software for fluid simulation. all these expensive programs that are superior and yet blender is more accessible and tutorials available to learn from. I've been playing with blender for years while focusing on Abobe suite professionally solely now I'm thinking Blender has more potential than any other software purely because it is far more collaborative.
ОтветитьYa, for most things Blender isn't the best possible tool available, but with that said it is still a very capable tool at pretty much everything it does - well beyond the minimum necessary to do professional work. And there is some knock on benefits to having nearly everything in a single package and not having to mess around so much with export/import and switching gears in your mind to match the conventions of different tools.
ОтветитьYou are the Best!!!!
ОтветитьYou might be better off doing your videos in your own language and adding subtitles. Or use AI voice instead.
ОтветитьGive blender a couple more yrs and it will be the same. Maxon isn't doing anything with zbrush and if they do their updates are so poor compared to the blender foundation.
ОтветитьBlender best software 😅
ОтветитьHave you considered re-doing the anatomy courses but in Blender this time? :D
Like female and male forms like you did in ZBrush some years ago, with all the new knowledge you've acquired over the years.
3dCoat bud. It's come a longgggg way in recent years
ОтветитьMaxon is going to ruin Zbrush.. the lack of independent pricing tier will mean the eventual death of Zbrush. Zbrush lived because 1 price provided updates.. now Maxon wants $700 per update.
ОтветитьHey Niko! What about the micro detailing in blender? Can it be done?
ОтветитьБлендер става все по-як. Крайно време е да му се доверят и големите студия
ОтветитьI worked for years with zbrush and still its my fav. tool of all time. But I regulary use Blender as well. Because its such a easy and fun programm... Playing with zbrush feels very professional and adult. But Blender is kind of the little brother with much more potential and making better jokes tho.
ОтветитьWhat is the name of the character you made in Blender? Thanks in advance
ОтветитьSad to see what a greedy company like Maxon can mean for the industry. When they bought Red Giant (plugin for After Effect) they started to flush out their former customers. When they then bought Z-Brush I knew it was time to look elsewhere. Thanks for sharing your experience with Blender. I'm seriously considering switching from Maya to Blender, but haven't quite had the guts to switch yet... have tried Blender a bit. What appeals to me most about Blander is their community and their willingness to share knowledge, something that all the other players don't come close to.
ОтветитьI’m a primarily blender guy, learning Zbrush and I think Zbrush might be a little bit better for sculpting but Blender just has everything in it so I keep sculpting in there instead lol
ОтветитьBlender sculpting tools are inferior. There is no point in using them, if you are a professional digital sculptor. Blender will limit your workflow. Brushes behave different, and you won't be able to reach the same polycount you would in Zbrush. And when it comes to "skill", if you're not very skilled, you won't feel any difference, but if you are skilled, Blender will handcap you.
ОтветитьGreat to see you transition to Blender. Showcasing that you're a great artist no matter what software you use.
ОтветитьBut ZBrush ins industry standard...
Blender is like you general soldier.
ZBrush is your special soldier.
Maybe its only me.
Teaching blender but using zbrush (for freelancing etc) is not hipocracy lol. It's perfectly fine to do that
ОтветитьThat’s it. Blender is amazing for its price (zero) and it’s the democratization of CGI.
ОтветитьAnd blender is not only about sculpting...
ОтветитьZbrush is only a sculpt tool, Blender is a whole 3d cinema studio, yet you can purchase blender plugins to level up even more
Ответитьpeople remember to donate to blender to help the team to develop even better features!
ОтветитьGreat channel and videos. Curious, have you ever tried NOMAD app on the iPad?
ОтветитьFor many years us old timers had a great price range on Zbrush with free updates, before they began to up it and charge for updates as well, which is fair enough. Alas now they, as many others, got sold and ended up in subscription hell which will definitely scare new potential users away. From that POV it makes total sense to take on Blender, it's an awesome package.
Ответитьi always thought zbrush would allow for more effective control over 3d character than blender but it seems blender has levelled up too
Ответить👍👍👍. 👍👍👍
ОтветитьI've mostly used Maya because I was told early on that it's an industry standard. I do have Blender but haven't used it as much bc I'm more use to Maya's interface. Switching between them is like switching between mac and PC, it's kind of frustrating.
But, I have been interested in getting more experience with Blender 🤔
Congrat on the video! I switched from zbrush to Nomad Sculpt + Blender and nothing has changed in my working time.
ОтветитьBlender is love 🧡
ОтветитьZBrush has a terrible, horrible interface and even though the tech is amazing, the UI is outdated and horrible to use for beginners. I mean, tools? subtools? WTF is that. A default 2D mode that nobody uses, ever? Why??? It's as if it was made on purpose to confuse users. I don't understand. It's like, it puts useless obstacles in your path on purpose instead of taking you by the hand with a smile.
The fact that so many people were willing to put in the effort of understanding this thing (and with stellar results) is beyond amazing...
I used to know the program a bit but after just a few months of not using it I have to lose a week to RELEARN everything. That never happens with any other 3D software, even complex stuff like Houdini, Realflow or Marvelous Designer.
So yeah, in conclusion, god bless ya Blender, long live to you.
🤭 'Promo SM'
ОтветитьBlender is definitely one of a kind. It's completely free, yet the devs still make decent money through donations. I've donated to them several times. This is how it should be.
ОтветитьI myself can relate with your story, when the pandemic hit me a couple of years ago, I lose my job in the studio I was working on, that forced me to find a path to survive, I can not be more thankful with the Blender foundation and the Blender artist community for give me back my life and with a huge improvement, because now I have my own small studio and found my niche, after saw the huge success of the Legue of Legends Netflix series Arcane and other shows as Record of Ragnarok and Castelvania I wanted to emulate the style and now I work mostly in NPR projects using Blender, as you I created my own pipeline and process and found ways to use Blender to EMULATE (not to make) 2d animation, is a very interesting field and Blender is far ahead of any other program to get the job done properly and fast enough to allow me to make a living from it together with my employees, for now we support other bigger studios that have the big contracts with netflix and other companies, but I hope to be able to make my dream come true and launch my first animation series, and is one thing that make Blender even more valuable for me, because is an open source software based on Pyton you can create a custom version for a very low cost that can save you a huge amount of time, I got the idea from Dilongo Studio and made my own version of blender that fit my needs, also developed my own addons, I am not a coder, but I simply invest and pay for it, that give me a huge advantage and reduced the production time of my projects exponentially, Blender is giving me a flexibility no other software can provide to me and I can not believe how is a free open source software, the only I can say is THANK YOU, to you and all the Blendr artists that share with us your knowledge and help us, Thank you to the Blender foundation for give me back my life and a future, God bless you all.
ОтветитьZbrush should be free for learning same as 3D coat with limited or no exports at all. Point is to train 3D artists in industry standard softwares...eventually most if not all will buy it. When I was just starting out with 3D coat I used it for free just learn how to hand paint, once I started making money I bought it. For Zbrush it wasn't the case because I had to... you know...
ОтветитьI'm glad to hear that, hopefully see a tutorial of female and man sculpt in blender
ОтветитьZ-Brush is a 1 trick pony, it only does 1 thing. Eventually your Z-Brush model needs to be in a Real 3D animation softare. Blender is the only 3D software that does everything, not even Houdini can do everything.
ОтветитьIgnore the comment below, just found your Blender/tablet video, yes I can be an idiot some times
ОтветитьHiya, I have enjoyed watching your videos, I've saved the character playlist for future. I've been "dabbling" in Blender on and off for a few years. I bought a Kamvas 22 a while back (a year maybe) but I'm really not sure how to control things with it. Could you recommend one of your videos to follow through to get used to using the tablet and pen, or any other pen/tablet exercises
Thanks
Mick
ps. just bought your head sculpting course on Udemy in anticipation
I would say Blender as a tool was a little stale at the start for me, coming from 3d max (5years) and I was jumping into 2.7 > 2.8 (transition) so it was even uglier due to all tutorials using an ugly, outdated UI, making it hard to follow. I decided just to customise it from the inside out (gut it) and make it my own.
All hotkeys are void of the norm, I'd say 90% are custom.
What really opened the doors was blender market, slowly downloading assets to mould the software to my needs, over the course of 5-ish years it's evolved into something insane. A beautify 3D application working almost like magic.
I have over those 5 years spent £2000+ on assets, though it seems insane! I pretty much gave up drinking and smoking to pay for my little venture :D
I'm about to embark in sculpting, hence I'm here, and I've been watching yourself for about a year now! great talent. I'm making the bold move of given up drawing (2D as a matter of fact) and just focusing purely on 3D.
Blender being free is the reason it will win, and if I am too make any mass money in the future, I would happily donate money to blender for support, due to helping a starving 3D artist get a equal footing in the field. Much respect to that!
Hey, I just wanted to say, it's not hypocrisy at all if you sell your courses for Blender and do some other work with Z-brush. These are two completely different things! One thing is knowledge of the programs - both of which you know very well - and you decided to sell courses for one of them, which essentially is selling your knowledge in conjunction with skills as a final product. The other thing is the actual work done with either of these programs - a product made with tool - it doesn't matter which program you used as you're selling the result of your skills and knowledge, not the skills and knowledge itself. Like a driving instructor teaching how to drive in Honda and freelancing as taxi driver in Mercedes.
ОтветитьAnd the best part is that Blender is evolving much faster than the competition.
ОтветитьThanks Nico! Very nice view
