I love the idea of the super cap. I kept a jump starter in my car, charged and ready to go at all times. Figures that it got stolen two nights ago.

Although it does not say anything about alternator's charging, but you are right because it will tell us whether the alternator is charging the battery or not which is a very valueable info.

Don't expect supercaps to last 100 years. Maybe 20, if you're lucky.

An LFP (LiFePO4) based jump starter won't last 100 years, either, but it's probably the best thing out there. It should last a lot longer than a jump starter with regular (NMC) batteries.

Question. If your Alternator was bad or missing belt, would leaving this device connected aid in limping your rig to a parts store, home, safe location, etc??
Essentially would it get you any further then just jumping battery then making a run for it with radio, dash lights and everything else possible turned off??

Capacitors do lose their charge over time. I am a Scott Kilmer fan but thus time you have inavertly given us very good reasons not to buy your Capacitor bank.

the thing sucks, i left the dome light in my car on overnight and drained my battery. the capacitor couldnt jump my car. i just used a backup noco battery jump starter instead.

Thank you so much for the information. It’s the best thing I’ve heard in years. I’ve six dead jumpstarters sitting on my garage floor with dead batteries. They are so important to me in the cold remote rural place that I live.

What about a solar powered trickle charger. Any idea on those.
