Kamiyama - Byakuya with a gentler eyes, much like his father Sojun.

Sakura Amamiya - Momo all over, the eyes is a give away.

Hatsuho - a lighter skinned Yoruichi (I thought she has Kukaku design at first but upon watching the series and seeing her design in different angles, its Yoruichi all over)

Azami - Soifon with bigger eyes

Anastasia - Harribel

Claris - less bustier Orihime (Kubo is a perfectionist when he worked on Orihime's design).

Anyways, this is just my choice and opinions so feel free to agree or disagree.

The Dragon Quest series has had Akira Toriyama as it's lead character designer since the first game in the 80's, and New Sakura Wars had Tite Kubo as the lead character designer.

I wonder if other video game series have a well known mangaka as the lead character designer.

Dear Sega, 11/10/2020

Hello, Aaron Yeboah here. I have been informed that you workers are now in trouble in terms of the money you all are earned from the games as well as the other things you had been paying off over the years.

You started as a system-to-game-developing empire back in the last century, which was the 1900s to 1999, selling video games as well as consoles onto the gaming market in order to beat up Nintendo at first, but you realize that Sony, your competitor and partner in developing games for the Sega CD, had a better chance in making and selling games around the 90s against you and Nintendo, starting with the PlayStation X or PlayStation 1. That abused both of you companies into either rushing your consoles as well as games right away as possible as you could or not showing them any speck of faith or hope to those who wanted to get those things of yours. As a result, you lost a lot of money in those who got your things in the competition in comparison toward Sony. With less money from customers came less party member support from companies you needed or wanted to release their things for you internally, including Atlus with their own MegaTen games and Square with their own Final Fantasy and Dragon Quest games. You were the international party poopers by not handling your power well when there's a single possibility between you to win in a contest. You were wrestling against each other with no intenions of winning, thus letting someone taking away your spotlight by winning in the ring. How finnacially and retrospectively disappointing!

You wanted to show that you could do better in the contest towards other franchises that have been taking up the cake from within your native home country to everywhere up in the heat of the moment. The Sega Saturn was released onto the planet Earth around the mid-1990s as the sequel of the Sega Genesis, which had its own games getting made for it, but that didn't work for a while in case of another company, Sony, taking up the sparks of light away from you in term of what they had from the back of their minds ever since before making a relationship with you in making games relatively for the Sega CD, especially such as the PS1. With new consoles came new praise to release better games for them as well as with getting associated with the others working for themselves as well as for that company behind them internally. With the PS1 in place of shipping and display onto the Earth, you made the choice to downright rush everyone you associated with into making and releasing the Saturn as well as the games that came with it. Meanwhile, the West lost faith or hope for the Saturn as well as the game franchises that you got in store for them all to see, including Sonic the Hedgehog and Streets of Rage. For the Sonic franchise, the only game that eventually demolished the proper reputation of the Sega Saturn was Sonic Xtreme, which was the cancelled sequel of Sonic 3 and Knuckles onto it as well as the PC. It was meant to take the franchise into the 3D realm relatively to the other franchises stepping into that stage, but it was gone as a fluke because you were losing your minds in terms of what others like Nintendo and Sony had in general. With that game gone in devastation came Sonic 3D Blast, Lost World, and Adventure in terms of inspirations years down the line while the East had Sakura Taisen blasting fireworks onto the night sky. You were telling your customers that something much more sweet and amusing will end the ruckus with companies between games and consoles, but it later didn't turn up as right as you expected in terms of sales down the line of years to come.

You even wanted to bring more of your games onto consoles that you lost externally as well as the people who wanted to play them for a much more longer time as possible as you can, but you didn't reach up to the criteria of the popularity in the world from the video game industry in terms of what your rivals had in store. After the Dreamcast's poor sales after it's release, you would become a game developer rather than an empire in systems and games. For franchises like Sonic the Hedgehog, they're gaining more fame in the West than in the last remainder of the last century. They had gotten toys, books, video games, awards, and fanbase support, even other companies like Bandai would sponsor them respectfully with honor, praise, and trust. For others like Sakura Taisen, they were either getting up to those expectations or not getting sponsored at all. For the United States and Europe, you sided with NIS America to release Sakura Wars 5: So Long, My Love with the English Dub for the Sony PlayStation 2 and Nintendo Wii in 2008. It appeared to had been surprising worked out after all, but it sold poorly in the West in terms of attention towards other things, such as new consoles like the PlayStation Vita later on, and your ways of releasing games like that to dust onto the crowd, leaving it unheard of. Because of this, NIS America, who wanted to release more of the Sakura Wars franchise in total out to the masses, will never release the franchise again, thus ending it with their backs onto it. You were a flopper. You wanted to show what you could do in comparison to the others in a contest to win in a bike race, but you ended up showing little to no efforts, thus losing in last place. You even gave RED, the developer of Sakura Wars, to another game developer in China and own the entire franchise instead of RED. You blew up your chances of winning again, especially to those RPGs and shooters from other competitors, including Bandai Namco with their own Tales and .hack franchises and Square Enix with their own Kingdom Hearts and Final Fantasy franchises.

At long last, you have been a flunker in the gaming market in general. Now you're in a gigantic mess, thanks with the COVID-19 pandemic, you must straighten up your ways or else nobody will support you in what you do for the long run. You will also get bankrupt for that. So, I will make it clear: SELL OUTSTANDING TITLES THAT EVERYONE LOVE AND ACKNOWLEDGE TO PLAY, SHARE, AND KEEP FOR A LONG TIME IN MEMORY!!!

Your fan from the USA,
Aaron Yeboah

For those who don't know about Sakura Wars,
Sakura Wars (Sakura Taisen) is a series of JRPGs with Dating Sim and Visual Novel gameplay elements that's been running for 23 Years.
In Japan, the series is one of Sega's biggest and most popular franchises.
The first Sakura Wars game was released on the SEGA Saturn in 1996 and was followed by five sequels, the fifth game, Sakura Wars 5: So Long My Love (Released in 2005) was the first game in the series to get an English release in 2010, five years after its original Japanese release.
After the 2005 release of Sakura Wars 5, the series went on a fourteen-year hiatus until the announcement of Sakura Wars (New Sakura Wars (Shin Sakura Taisen)), the sixth Installment in the Sakura Wars series which serves as a soft reboot to the Series. It's also the second game to be given an official English release.
The First Five Games Used a Tactical RPG Battle System while the new game uses an Action RPG Battle System.
Outside of the games, The series was adapted into multiple anime series (Six OVA series, A TV Anime and an Anime movie), multiple light novels, a manga, radio dramas and Live stage shows that's been running since 1997.
Fun Fact: The first five Sakura Wars games featured character designs by Kōsuke Fujishima, The Creator of the Oh My Goddess! manga and character designer for eight of Bandai Namco's Tales of games (Including Tales of Phantasia, Zestiria and Berseria).
Fun Fact 2: The Active and Real-time Machine System (ARMS) Battle System used from Sakura Wars 3 onwards would later be the basis for the battle system used in the Valkyria Chronicles series, which is developed by much of the same team.

As an OG fan since the Sega Saturn releases, I'm so happy to see this series being resurrected!!

These are real good character designs but nothing (and I mean NOTHING) will ever take the place of Kosuke Fujishima's character and mechanical designs. He's probably busy with the millions of Tales games to work on much else. Real shame.

What's here is good though and I understand the change. I guess I'm just getting old...😓
