Fantastic video. But also keep in mind as Enders suggested throughout the video, these devs lost the consumers Trust based of their past actions. So, they’ll need to just deal with anti trusting behavior from the community when it comes to stuff like this until they can regain the trust. Actions have consequences (or in wings’ case, Consequences have actions piemp.)

I don't believe a word he said. COD devs have insisted on ping being kind for the past couple of years before revealing it was not true. If you have a skill factor in the matchmaking algorithm, it won't feel the same as the server browser anyway. No one is talking about the return of the server browser which would put all these concerns to rest. If they have a minor sbmm in quickplay, I don't care as long as we get a server browser which isn't happening. So, your yesterday's video still stands, casual FPS is pretty much gone. I don't want to be playing and trying to figure out whether my lobby has been affected by sbmm or it's just me who isn't doing well. Besides, I can already say that you location will have a great impact on it, IF what David Sirland said is true. If you have a large playerpool around you, your games will be pretty sweaty because there are more players to select from. And your lobbies will depend on the time of the day you play. I can only play in the evenings and given that I live in Western Europe, my games will sweaty as hell. I've been playing bf games nonstop since Bad Company 2, so I guess it's time to say goodbye to the last casual fps game

Yeah, a team balancer is fine. But you know they're not stopping there if the game is successful enough (and has enough consistent players) to "curate the experience" and maximize potential skin sales. The code for hard SBMM is absolutely in 2042. They've just never had enough players to fully utilize it.

EA isn't gonna allow us a server browser when they have a financial incentive to keep the little Timmys happy and buying $10 anime skins and dumb crap like weapon charms and player cards.

So it is absolutely fine to have a squad of highly skilled veteran players stomping on everyone in the server??

I'll believe it when the game has been out for 2 months and people have played long enough to prove otherwise.

First off "ping is king" is exactly the same thing the cod devs are saying, and in that case it is clearly an overstatement. All what David wrote sounds reasonable but this doesn't really assure to us that ping is "enough of a king". Second, the lack of mention of a server browser is concerning. It is ESSENTIAL that the next Battlefield has a server browser that is on paar or better than the one in BF4, BF1 and BFV. The game cannot rely on matchmaking alone, but I am not opposed to having a fast and easy matchmaking option that also helps to populate servers.

All well and good that they're trying to alleviate our concerns. But if SBMM is a non-factor then why don't they just give us a server browser? Why are they sticking with matchmaking and not giving us the choice to play the maps we want? Enders, in the past, you mentioned something about playing defense on like 15 games in a row or something in BF2042. Nobody wants that with matchmaking and we want persistent lobbies. And forget about Portal. It sucked in BF2042 and I'm sure it won't get any love and attention in BF6 either. Past games had both server browsers and Quickmatch. Why don't they just go back to that? It would make everyone happy. David Sirland can sugar coat it all he wants but my gut tells me that they have more agressive SBMM intentions than what is being told to us.

I'm glad he said that, but how many times have we heard developers say that the skill portion of matchmaking in their game is negligible, and that we shouldn't worry about it? We will have to see what we get with the actual game. NO PREORDERS!!!

The problem with any of those or future statements is I don't trust them. They gave me no reason to consider their words to be trustworthy. A DICE/EA employee could tell me the sky is blue and I'd look out the window to verify their claim.

So no Server browser… also your completely wrong saying 2042 didn’t play different from bf5 or 5 from 1… “in terms of lobbies” seriously? EDIT: I HATE how the servers work in 2042.. play against people, where you are competing to see who is better and match ends and bye bye never to be seen again…

What's the issue with SBMM to begin with? Genuinely, it sounds like a good tool to balance teams and prevent veterans from dominating servers + killing new players' experiences.

Don't believe anything a dev says they are all full of fucking shit . Also no server browser or ability to rent servers means won't bother paying for the game . I'll just stick to bf1 , where we have our OWN fucking SERVERS .
