Why use animation in litigation?

Animations are a powerful way to take a complex, technical topic and explain it clearly, thoroughly, accurately, and in a way a jury can readily understand. They take visualizations to the next level – by incorporating movement over time to illustrate different perspectives as well as the cause and sequence of events.

Recently, ESi was engaged to provide animations for two cases that went before the Supreme Court -- one involving adjustable foot pedals for automobiles, and another involving plastic bottles used to store and dispense various household products.

In this video, Sr. Managing Consultant Daniel Kruger, Ph.D. explains what happened in each case and how the animations contributed to a successful verdict. In the first case, our technical team was able to animate both the manufactured foot pedals and a foot pedal design that existed only on patent drawings.
