Fortis Official Cosmonauts Chronograph: A Review

A small update: It seems Watchbuys is not selling Fortis anymore. Not sure where they can be purchased in North America at this time.

The 7750 wabble is real, but it's not bad abd it's not a problem. Thickness, on the other hand, might be a problem.

Great watch, but all i can think about is $1,000 service every few years. I think I'll get the Bulova Lunar Pilot.

Always wanted a Fortis space watch but ran out of money years ago. 😢

Still a great chronograph. I love mine. Also have a Flieger Pro.

Ever since discovering the brand from your reviews, I have to say that I am a big fan of the B42 case and bracelet. Clearly purposely built, well finished. rugged, and reliable. Even w/ the older friction fit style clasp, IMHO. I believe that the term "honest," very accurately describes their offerings, both then and now, from Fortis as a brand. Great job. I really enjoyed the review

I remember reading a story about cosmonaut who was in the middle of a spacewalk carrying out some repairs. He apparently needed to hammer a rivet down. Instead of abandoning the spacewalk and retrieving a tool to complete the job, he used his Fortis watch as an improvised hammer to get the job done.

Excellent review, I love my B42, although mine has no tachymetre, it was made for a specific pilot in the greek air force with their wings logo on the dial, I never really noticed it doesn't have one until you mentioned it lol

Great video. Huge Fan of Fortis as well. I always thought that the Official Cosmonaut Chronograph would be way too big and too heavy for me so I was searching for the Titanium version. Became a grail for me. Two years ago I was able to pick a used one up and I am over the moon. Wears great, even for it's size. Functionally for me, this is the most complete chronograph ever built. And the alarm version is absolutely insane!
With the new owner of Fortis I think they're moving in the right direction now.

Completely agree about the clasp. I acctually sent Fortis a mail earlier today, inquiring about the clasp on the new Flieger models, if they fit the bracelet of the Cosmonauts Chronograph. Good review!

Thank you for your detailed review. I have the same watch and it makes strange squeky sounds when I hand wind it. Do you think this is normal and do your Fortis do this too?

That's a watch I would really enjoy wearing due it's heft and rock solid build. 😍

Love this watch, but I would probably get it with a Cordura or leather strap.

Hi , great video and great watch! I own one for myself. Got a question: is your chrono also off the hour mark when showing the passed time? Like you know it's been running for a hour but the indicator shows a little off one hour?
Would be nice to know.
