Beaver Builder 2 Review - From Someone Who Has Used It For 3 Years

Which 3rd party has the issues? I assume it's UABB. I've never had an issue with Powerpack.

What's the difference between powerpack and UUAB? I notice BB themselves say there is an overlap.
I just bought powerpack and want to be sure i am not overspending if i bought UABB
I struggle with styling up a menu and like to know if yo think UABB would be better for menus?

Hello, I want to redo my old personal website and I am considering using WordPress. In doing a search on site builders for WP, I found your great videos! I am hesitating between Beaver and Elementor… My website will primarily show my photos through travel blogs and photo galleries (and maybe also videos). Which site builder would you recommend?

Hi Adam - great video's really useful. I'm trying to decide between Beaver Builder and Elementor at the moment - I'm a bit torn actually as mobile is just so important but at the same time so too is stability as I have lots of client websites and I HATE updates! How does Elementor compare stability wise? Also I usually use either Genesis or Thesis as a theme. Are either of these compatible with BB? Elementor? How is Astra in terms of SEO? Does it have the same SEO benefits as the other two? TIA :)

Actually now in August 24th 2018, the mobile editing experiance is much more improved ! and you can actually edit in mobile mode ! Awesome !

Hi! Guys Looking at the back end of Beaver Builder Templates I see that there is no much use for Categories as Navigation Menu. I see that the menu is created using pages. Is this is safe for SEO?

Very expensive compared to other builders. They advertise the product will work even if you do not pay for continued subscriptions, but Beaver Builder completely stopped working after the first year ended. When you factor in the fact the you have to keep paying $200 a year, you quickly realize that the cost is three times higher than other products (including those that have hosting priced in). Customer service did nothing after I complained about their misleading advertising. I had to file a BBB complaint.

Beaver builder is liar, it stops working without renewal. you have to buy it every year, don't trust them

Good video Adam - but did I miss it? What is the plugin you often have compatibility problems with? Currently unsure whether to use UABB or BBPP - They appear to crossover and some common elements, but am concerned at yet another plugin on sites and yet more CSS/JS being loaded on the front ends for viewers. Which would you choose? (I'm hedging BBPP as that is made by BB themselves) Thanks!

Looks like that's a bug in the mobile preview for that layout. Would love to take a look at that. The columns should definitely be collapsing.

Sorry but the inability to easily handle responsive design makes BB a non-starter in my book. Back to Elementor!

Adam, Thanks for a great update video for BB. I noticed that BB does "suck" for mobile viewing. Do you believe that Elementor does a better job of mobile device preview?

Thank you for clarifying. I’ve had some serious issues with BB after upgrading. Whole pieces of text dissappearing, Blog post widgets totally gone. Extremely annoying (and time consuming). I am willing to believe this was due to a third party addon (I’m also using UABB), but right now I’m not so sure of the stability of BB. For the moment: benefit of the doubt.

Great video! I'd add that there are renewal discounts for BB, as well as many builders. Some folks don't realize that. Also, as one of those non-devs with just a few sites if my own, I've definitely noticed (and talked about) how both BB and the BB community have gradually moved further and further to the "catering to developers" side of things. The support is great, but not nearly as personal and...I don't know...warm as it used to be.

You are also spot on with the mobile editing! It's horrible. That said, for my needs it's sufficient and the stability I've become familiar with after years with BB is worth the trade off.

Anyways, once Elementor Themer and UA for Elementor come out, we'll see what happens. Elementor is definitely active, but also not nearly as stable compared to BB. :) Good contrast.

Hi Adam, would the Astra starter site plugin work with the Generatepress theme or only with the Astra theme?
Oh and I'm really pleased you pointed out the problems with adjusting the mobile settings. I've been adjusting my site on my laptop and referring to my phone to see how it looks thinking this can't be right but that's actually how you do it.

If you don't use the Global Settings CSS to add changes where do you store them? When I previously used Genesis (without BB) I would always put them directly in style.css but I've switched to GeneratePress + BB and find myself using the Global Settings a lot for adding new styles. I've been questioning if this is the best way to add styles globally or not?

Another question, I'm already a long time searching for a good solution for my clients to update/edit/delete there content on a website from the frontend. The content are custom post types. What do you think of using toolset for that? I want a solution with as less as possible plugins and was thinking about toolset, wp-types for the post types, creds for the forms for updating/editing and deleting, access for the security of the client section, ... Can you give me your suggestion about this. Thanks, Luc

I'm using Beaver + Themer + PowerPack for more than 2 years now and I like it but I was curious to see your full review and this makes me think about downgrading from white label which is expensive to Pro or even Standard and try the Astra theme as you do... and maybe try Elementor which I've never tried and have both options, what would you recommend ?
