if this game’s booster pass’s final update adds double dash mode, new OR returning items (pow block, fake item box, feathers in races, lightning cloud, and mega mush, and special items (for each character or anyone)), and made it more like mk wii, there would be no need for mario kart 9 sadly but honestly

This game isn't Mario Kart 8 Deluxe. It's Mario Kart Ultimate. The most amount of racers, tracks, kart parts, items, and the best looking game in series.

Before you comment saying "you are objectively wrong the game is called mario kart 8 deluxe", this comment is simply me saying it's the best Mario Kart.

While I'm not a big fan of ports, I gotta say, Mario Kart 8 Deluxe does so many things better than its predecessor.

-Actual battle mode maps. It's not really that cool to play battle mode on regular tracks. Plus, it even has other battle mode modes to rev things up.

-2 items at once. Do I have to say anything else?

-New characters and amiibo costumes. And, until the Booster Course Pass came out, the characters were all free, no DLC lock or anything. They added Gold Mario, they added the Inklings and BotW Link amongst other costumes. Speaking of no DLC lock.

-All DLC content from MK8 is free on MK8D. This is especially important due to the recent closure of the 3DS and Wii U eShop. So, if you passed the opportunity and you have a Switch, you can still experience every track previously only available through DLC on Wii U.

As much as I hate to admit it, but the fact that the Switch is a semi-literal porting machine is actually a good thing. Most people, who skipped out on the Wii U, get to experience some of the Wii U games for the first time on Switch. Of course, this doesn't mean that Pikmin 3, which was literally built around the GamePad as the main controller and in-game tablet in mind, plays better on Switch. There are some core features that cannot be easily, if not at all, replicated on the Switch.

Yet, it's also good to make new games instead of focussing on ports only. This may be the result of Super Mario Odyssey being the newest mainline entry in the Mario series to date, and it released almost 6 years ago. Bowser's Fury and A Spark of Hope do not count.

This game's graphics are great, but gameplay/steering controls are only average. It lacks the fun steering spinouts from side to side that the original Mario Kart had for the SNES. :(

Highly pissed that they gave the Wii U no credit. Everything on it says Mario kart 8 deluxe. I get that Nintendo is going for a rebrand sort of thing but Jesus Christ.
