I LOVE all the orchids!!!Do they smell good too?
ОтветитьI think it was probably a mistake to remove the orchid from its clear container...
ОтветитьAaron great job filming! The editing was such a nice pace to watch....did you edit this video too? Thank you for sharing your family and projects.
Ответить❤❤❤❤❤❤
ОтветитьLove the metal container with ferns but why wouldn’t you spray paint it ? Looks pretty ruff on the outside
ОтветитьHello I’m a novice still with Orchids but don’t remove the leaf unless the plant releases it. I’ve practice using cinnamon to dehydrate the cut end if you must cut due to fungus. The Orchid breathes from underneath of the leaf. A cut is like cutting your skin it opens it up to disease. Do not allow water to set inside and around the leaves it can cause root rot. Make sure if inside keep by a window for light. I have 3 which hangs in a window. And the debate to cut the bloom spike or not to. I did not on my Catlia and the bloom came out of the old spike my other Orchids after a new leaf created a bloom spike under the second leaf. So don’t cut water underneath and plenty of light. Mine are years old and doing awesome inside. I have a spike right now from one of mine that loves to bloom this time of year which is not in the bloom season. Have fun learning. If the do appear to die you can save them btw.
ОтветитьThe orchids in clear pots are the type that photosynthesise through their roots, they like to have at least part of their roots exposed to light and may not thrive when planted like this, please remove the moss, it may be aesthetically pleasing but it’s very detrimental to the plant.
Also orchids like to be constrained in their pots, when repotting only increase the pot size minimally and you shouldn’t repot whilst in bloom, the flowers will likely drop. The garden centre left the orchid in its pot inside the planter for a reason.
👍👍
ОтветитьVery very pretty ❤️
ОтветитьOrchids like a tight foot.
So don't mess with the roots. And pack them in as tight as possible. . You're likely to get them to rebloom faster.
My neighbor is a crazy orchid collector. Who taught me what to do with mine?
ОтветитьBeautiful!! I bought 17 orchids and they all died on me. I can never get them to live😢
ОтветитьThis was an inspiration to try live plants on my kitchen table. I wondered about not getting direct sunlight, I have bright light, so hopefully they will survive😊
ОтветитьWHAT A GREAT VIDEO I sure needed that Spring inspo as I sit up here in the dreariness of the Seattle area. Off topic, but where did you find that gorgeous dining table? I've been searching for months for one similar to yours. Thanks again!
ОтветитьI love orchids. They prefer the humidity and in a window they need the light. Mine are small and I have them in my bathroom and it gets the morning to early afternoon sun
ОтветитьHey Laura! Since you have trouble growing the tropical orchids, have you ever considered growing some of the native orchids that are responsibly sourced in your garden? I had my first successful cypripediums bloom in Colorado zone 6a and they were quite the rewarding project plant!
ОтветитьAll three containers are absolutely stunning! I would love to have something like those in my home. Well done!
ОтветитьYour Greenhouse is perfect for orchids!!! I’m an orchid hobbyist and you did everything right!!! In addition to the new medium I usually include a sprinkle of slow release fertilizer. Well done!!! 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼✨
ОтветитьSo pretty. I love watching you putting arrangements together... I have been told that my flowers and floral arrangements are pretty. I am having a new gardening shed built next spring and I can't wait to get my hands in the dirt!!!! You have inspired me so much.
ОтветитьHi love you wear need you get them blue and white it’s from I wood love together some
ОтветитьI always give a “like” when I see Russell. 💙🐈💙 Glad you were in the video today Russell. 💙🐈💙 Russell loves the blue cushions in the back. Blue is his color. 💙🐈💙
ОтветитьSometimes it’s best to plant an orchid in a clear plastic inner pot with vertical slits all around . Fill the pot with an orchid mixture. They do sell plastic pots pre slit. Then place the pot in an outer larger pot. Orchids roots need air. so when watering take the plastic pot out and water in a sink and let any excess water drain out and put it back in the ceramic or terra cotta pot. This way you can fell and see if it needs more water and see how the roots are doing
ОтветитьThe orchids are beautiful!
ОтветитьI haven’t tried orchids. They are so pretty especially with the ferns.
Ответить🌸
ОтветитьThat fern centerpiece is absolutely gorgeous. The arrangements that you put together are just amazing, and your talents are endless.😊
ОтветитьVery Beautiful, blue and white Classic design ! Please tell us where you found your gorgeous containers they are perfect. Thanks Marla
ОтветитьLove the video. Also the camera you used to film this video did such a great job !!!
ОтветитьLove the centrepiece, definitely 💯 will be stealing your arrangement. QUESTION❓ Do you fertilize your indoor/houseplants during the winter?❓

ОтветитьOh how pretty! I love the conbination of plants ypu chose! 💙💚💛🧡💜 Liz
ОтветитьAfter the decadence of Christmas decorating, there's something truly pleasing & refreshing about tropicals in January ✨️
ОтветитьOhhhhhh my goodness, all r absolutely gorgeous!! 😁
ОтветитьInstead of drilling a hole in those blue containers why not find a plastic plant pot that will sit comfortably inside and then with all the foliage you wont notice any gap. I do this a lot and I call it a pot within a pot. It also means you can have an alternative plastic pot ready planted to replace the first one when its looking sad.
ОтветитьBeautiful ❤
ОтветитьNo air or enough drainage ‼️
ОтветитьOrchids are really pretty in those pots.
ОтветитьI really like the pot it goes well with the orchid
ОтветитьSo pretty
ОтветитьI've been watching your vids from the beginning, in this video i felt the OG Garden answer channel returned , thank you !
ОтветитьBeautiful planter of ferns. It looks gorgeous on the table. Love the orchids too! I think they’ll love it in the kitchen.
ОтветитьWith beautiful ceramic pots like that, I’m always looking at thrift stores, church rummage, or even Department Stores clearance tables for plates that are large, heavy and have sort of turned up lips or edges. Great to use as sauces in stead of plastic or terracotta..so much prettier. I actually don’t need to look much now because I have accumulated a pretty good collection of all sizes. (KH)
ОтветитьFrom what I know of orchids they like to be quite root bound and for the roots to get light, hence why they are grown in clear containers. We personally keep them in those clear containers and enjoy the look of the roots
ОтветитьI love it! it's absolutely beautiful! The wood pieces really adds an unexpected touch!
ОтветитьThe final locations for the planter and orchids are perfect! Laura, you are so talented and have a good eye for scale and proportions and color!
ОтветитьOh my gosh it's been so long since we've had a video like this. So peaceful and absolutely beautiful! I love everything you do!
ОтветитьWould you use espoma cactus and succulent mix straight out of the bag as you did here with the orchid mix? Or would you mix that with something else when potting xeric plants?
Ответить
