I work in new car sales for a Toyota dealership in Central Queensland. I reckon I average 2 Landcruiser 300's a month and the new 2024 Prado (Landcruiser 250) will probably double that pr more, can't wait for it to be released!
ОтветитьI hate the fact that they’ve dropped the split tailgate. First, it is so handy as a workbench, as a table for nibbles, as a platform to stand on when taking things on and off of the roof and as an impromptu seat. Plus, the much longer one piece tailgate can get in the way when parked in tighter spots. That would really factor into my decision between the two.
ОтветитьWe finally are having an emission standards in Australia all vehicles from 2025 have to meet these new Euro 6 standards, will be interesting to see how this affects the 300 series Landcruiser, Toyota are bring out an EV version late in this decade!!!
ОтветитьI thought the UK left the European Union?
ОтветитьFront ground clearance looks similar to a golf.
ОтветитьJLR shonk would fall apart at the first sand dune, that’s why anywhere where it matters they buy land cruisers
ОтветитьI feel like, the money Toyota saves on luxury, is transferred to their customers in terms of re-sale value. After 10 years a Range Rover won't be worth half the price with all it's bells and whistles.
ОтветитьHi Harry, thanks for reviewing Land cruiser 300, just a couple of points, as you said it is not the luxury brand of Toyota, so I think Lexus LX 600 is a Rangei rival, secondly It has a GR version which has a better clearance.
In Australia we are lucky enough to get a v6 twin turbo very torquey diesel engine which was absolutely fantastic to drive when I had it for test drive for few days
The new land cruiser design is awful looks straight out of the 2000s
ОтветитьIs it also a regulation that Landcruisers have to look ugly?
ОтветитьDon’t like the hot V or the problems that R happening with it 🤬
ОтветитьIt’s a box like sand griller.
ОтветитьWhere is the 3.3 Diesel Review, hundreds of Aussie tests, YOU need one....we plan to import three 3.3 TD into Swizterland, immatriculation testing fees will be ca 15,000 CHF....but will be worth it.
With our driving profle, long distance high ways, heavy towing, overland roads and many passes in mountains and real off-road paths to our chalets....never a petrol.
Land Rovers but no Toyo ? I would have to say the UK is scared of competition! Of course LR breaks down all the time and the Toyo don’t.n
ОтветитьI really do wish we could get that engine here in aust, from what ive seen its only diesel
ОтветитьHow do Toyota manage to make an ugly car even uglier? If they're trying to compete with anything from the Land Rover range, they're failing massively on the aesthetics front. It's just awful. Probably aimed at the Americans, who like this sort of flabby looking SUV. Mind you, if I was going to go way off-road, I wouldn't care much about the looks. Whilst I don't believe the internet mythology about Range Rover reliability, it's a complex vehicle, and a car made of pig-iron as Jeremy Clarkson would say, is going to be a better bet for overlanding. But, live axle and ladder chassis means bloody awful handling on a paved road surface.
ОтветитьSo annoying that beeping when opening the boot💀
ОтветитьThe front end styling feels to me like it references the 80-series Land Cruiser with the grill shape and high, slim lights. Also looks substantially better in colours other than white.
ОтветитьGreat review Mr. M.
This new Toyota really is the automotive definition of "having a face only a mother could love"!
I want one! But i guess i will have to pull my boat with a pathetic electric Yaris…
ОтветитьWent with the Y62 Patrol and it’s NA 5.6L V8 pushing out 400HP when needed. A lot cheaper here in Oz than the 300 series and just as capable off-road if not better in some respects than the Landcruiser. The RH drive market didn’t get the updated dash and connectivity of the LH drive vehicles, but if you have to do a 1,000k’s a day, it’s still a very nice place to be.
ОтветитьProportions to the C pillar & then behind it are way off. Pity.
ОтветитьGreat video as always BUT disappointing to see you visited Saudi Arabia. The land of human rights abuses….
ОтветитьIn Australia, there is radar cruise control on all 300 Series including the base trim GX.
ОтветитьOverpriced and Overrated.
ОтветитьIf LR products were built by Japanese, with their quality if componentry, it would be fine. It's all an old argument.
The basic vs complex/luxury argument also done to death. Fewer customers want a Landcruiser 79/Old Defender type truck, cos they don't understand technical issues, don't want to know, don't get their hands dirty and just want comfort, convenience and image. TLC is a worthy vehicle but loses in aesthetics/image to RR and Gwagon.
It fell out of the ugly tree and hit every branch on the way down!
ОтветитьHaving owned a Tundra, highlander and 4Runner I must say they are so simple that they’re actually boring. And, they’re revoltingly pig ugly.
ОтветитьIt’s a shame they don’t go back to 2 live axles like the 80 series which is arguably the best..it’s also a shame about the markets it’s now aimed at as it looks terrible 🤣. But you have to admire Toyota for being the last bastion of proper engineering and cars that will last generations.. none of it really matters though as you can’t buy them in the uk 🤣
ОтветитьPintle tow hitches typically can carry heavier tow capacities than tow balls. I wont be surprised if you can swap it for w ball.
ОтветитьThey have left the 'plush-luxury' stuff to the Lexus LX, with captain chairs at the rear, with all tricks like massage-ventilation etc functions. It also has height-adjustable suspension (probably- standard). LX, offered in the US, but not the LC300(they shall get the 250 Prado). The LC300 tested doesn't seem to be the top-spec version(headlights, smaller info screen between the speedo-tacho-meters, etc.). Considering the fact that they come with a lot of optioanl-extras(3 diff locks and what not) and that the LC 200 had height-adjustable suspension as AHC(Active Height Control), maybe it's also among the 'optional-extras' on the LC300.
Anyway, LC250(New Prado) based on the same platform shall come to Europe & UK soon, interestingly with same wheelbase as LC300(very Prado-unlike). Let's see what they offer with it.
What happened to Toyota manipulating quality control and deceiving consumers for 34 years?
ОтветитьI think air suspension would not be suitable for a Land Cruiser - I'd rather have coils for such a vehicle
ОтветитьIt's looks are what we might call 'vulgar' and that's the sort of look the target market go for! So as hideous as it is, it's no doubt for that reason.
ОтветитьThanks Brussels for keeping these monstrosities off our roads.
ОтветитьHopefully we get to see a Harry's Garage video about the J25 Landcruiser which is coming to Europe by the end of the year
ОтветитьSo that’s what happened to the LC
ОтветитьWhile you were there did you get your see the Land Cruiser 300 entry in the race? Maybe video of it coming soon?
ОтветитьSorry Harry, i stopped watching at 4 minutes, there's not many uglier vehicles than this. It wouldn't surprise me if no one wanted it in Europe.
Still love your ch though.✌️🇬🇧
Think I'm pretty sure this is the ugliest vehicle Harry had ever tested , quite glad we won't be seeing it here 😅😅
ОтветитьWith that styling you're not doing much off roading. It's so low and the approach and departure angles are terrible.
ОтветитьThe quintessential Dubai car. Come the weekend and you'll see about a million of these out on the dunes.
ОтветитьHere lies the lunacy of much environmental legislation. Not only has it finished the supply of large vehicles like the Landcruiser but it has also led to the end of small petrol and diesel engined cars which are not just the backbone of British personal transportation but of the vibrant second hand market that has provided cheap cars for families who cannot afford to buy new. That is a market that will not be looked after with £30K electric vehicles.
ОтветитьAs a life long Land Rover/Range Rover owner and enthusiast, I want one. This hits everything I want that each new offering from JLR misses.
ОтветитьJust like a Landrover only much better in every respect...
ОтветитьThe nose of the new Land Cruiser looks like the Cylon helmets from 'Battlestar Galactica'. It was cool in the 80s.
ОтветитьThe looks are likely to appeal to the US market. They seem to like huge front grills.
ОтветитьSo what did they serve for lunch?
ОтветитьAh. Starting.. I thought you said Stalin.
Ответить
