I Tested The 10 Best Headphones ($50 to $150)

I had headphones for $20 for 2-3 years. Then decided 770 pro for 150$. I like listening to music so I said F it if I buy at least a good one. 3 years passed still love my 770 pro 80ohm. Sturdy and comfy AF. Dropped them like 5-10 times from table height, no scratches, no audio damage. Beyerdynamic you rock!

We cant hate on a lovely brother as this, but I have noticed most things are the generic popular things, their brand or stuffs not very known by lots of people and this chanel also doesnt talk or know about those or just decides to go with what is popular. generic and I wated to say it here.
Where is the AKG 371 361,
where is the ATH M70X
where is the Shure srh series
and so many amazing headphones
someone ready to spend 200 might also spend 300 for somerthing that will make their a lot better.
but some of these reviewers do not think in term of real life.

I have the beyerdynamic, I don't like them at all. I've had sennheiser 280 pro before and I like them much more, but it was an older version not the one you show in the video. Next I will buy audiotechnica and try them. Beyerdynamic was not for me. Very comfortable tho, but sound is just harsh and nah, I don't like it

I got a free pair of AKG from a purchase. I enjoy them because I like the expanded treble sound. But when I play the piano, I have to make sure I put the bass back due to others' comments that there's no/weak base when I play.

Everyone talks about how neutral sounding all these headphones are but none of them really sound flat except the 280 pro but that’s just my opinion

Ok nobody is doing reviews about headphones for simply listening to music. Its all studio this, studio that. If you just want to listen you do NOT want a flat monitor. I cant find anyone making recommendations for simply listening.

as a producer, i own the M50X and the AKG K 702 and i subscribe to everything Thomas said. They are both brilliant, but i end up usind the M50X 90% of the time. However since i st arted watching movies with the AKG K702 i was in awe of how absolutely gorgeous they sound with movies. IT sounds like you are inside the movie.

When i look up the DT 770 Pro I see there are 3 versions: 250ohm, 80ohm and a 32ohm. I'm going to hook them to my guitar amp. Which one should I get?

I just want a good pair for guitar thay has a detachable cord. Detachable cord is a must because if im playing i dont want to ruin the headset if i move wrong and be out near $200.

Good Video but simply misses the 990pro from Beyerdynamic. Its THE Headpfhone everybody compares stuff to in that price range. Not the 770.

Um, AKG K371? It beats all of them here. Moreover, you don't need to EQ it at all. Bitperfect, without EQ, put it on and enjoy. Including ingenious bass.

Look closely at the Audio Technica's, you see that cheap plastic holding the cup? They snapped and broke where the metal band slides into that U cup holder, the metal cut my ear and into the side of head drawing blood! I was done with Audio Technica, and any other brand that uses a cheap plastic design like this.

My first pair of proper headphones (dt 770 pro) should be arriving in the mail tomorrow and i'm beyond excited

I've tried the DT770 Pro, but I still prefer the sound of my Rode NTH-100.
The Rode headphones are by far best in class and are not that far off from my Sennheiser HD800S.
The DT770 are a bit more comfortable than the Rode though.

I have both DT 770 Pro 32 and 80 Ohm and my impression is that they sound pretty similar, including volume, but the 32 Ohm is better. Especially in treble. It's like a veil is lifted when I switch to the 32 Ohm version. Could be just my amp or something.

I still have the K240’S, they’re decent for the money, especially for monitoring guitar. They used to be around $30 not to long ago either

I think sound is unique ot the listener. I use the two you didn't really like both the HD 280 PRO and Sony MDR-7506. They are both insustry standard because of the flat response not the hi fidelity. I use both in a studio for tracking and mixing and both perform very well overall for the price. Sony is lacking a little on erapads and that wire hanging out but they sound great on every reference track I have tried them on and mixes translate very well.

The Grado Labs SR80 and Koss Porta Pro are an excellent choice too in an open-sounding style

Test the Hifiman HE400SE. They're planars often on sale for $89-100 and they punch way above yheir price bracket given you have an amp that can drive them (low inpedance but very low sensitivity so it needs a lot of power, and tube amps dont tend to like them)

I don't know how any reviewer could call the Sony 7506's neutral? The Sony's have a mid-range bump (2 to 4K range?), have a low end bump around 120 hz and as stated, they don't do well with sub frequency reproduction compared to more modern headphones. HOWEVER, they are absolutely amazing for checking the mid-range content on your mixes, if the mid range of your mix is in any way too hyped, it will shear your eardrums off on the Sony's. If you switch to speakers you'll all of a sudden hear that thing the Sony's highlighted that you'd missed. It won't be so pronounced on the speakers but it WILL be there. If the mid-range is right, it will sound smooth on the Sony's, I know of no other headphones that show this weakness in a mix that well and I've tried many of them over the years.

I've found too that people love the sound of these headphones when recording and contrary to how they feel in terms of build quality, they're virtually indestructible.
