Yea but that badboy is worth a lot more than just melt in my opinion. Looks beautiful. You put a lot of work into that. It’s not scrap copper anymore! How much money worth of equipment would I need to start doing this? I have an insane amount of scrap copper, aluminum, brass etc that I get at work every week. Electricians throw romex wire in the dumpster! I’m talking 50 , 100 dollars worth at most rehab jobs I go to.

What temperature do you need for carbothermal reduction of the copper oxides? I find that every time I melt a bunch oxidizes.

How much does this guy have invested in fancy tools?? I melt mine with a blacksmith forge and an airblower.

Great content ! question, I’m building a furnace from scratch , and I’m thinking of using buckets and cement to make an shell for the furnace. My question is would Morter cement handle the temperature of forging with also having a wall of ceramic insulation on the inside ? Thanks
