When I was In Eqypt I Found that some locals would like to play joke /pranks with you but say it such a serious way and face that you would think that they was being serious example like if I was getting into a jeep with no doors or seatbelt guy would say something like could you close the door when you get in and put seatbelt on stuff like that.

You don’t want to know some of the harsh realities of life in Lebanon. I befriended a woman who had to escape the country to protect herself & her kids. Then I dated a college student from Beirut. Both had unbelievable, scary stories that I won’t repeat here, of how women & kids are sometimes treated. In the US it would be 20 years in prison, in Lebanon it might be 6 months, if any jail time at all.
