I think with the new up date this can't be done this way, for me it did not come up.

Still working, July 30th 2023. Be careful throwing the signal granade. If there are obstacles you will get a message that it can't land there.

you also get a misc quest when you rent a bed and you just have to sleep for an hour I found that out by accident when I chose the rent a room option in the far harbor bar by accident and it added a misc objective that just said sleep in the bed and you can keep doing that for 10 caps a time so this would probably be easier and can be done before finishing the story if you just find a place that rents out rooms

How do you do this if you side with the institute?

So do these stack among saves? Like is it 50 total across everything or do I have to do them in one save?

If anyone still trying to do this, just travel from sanctuary to red rocket and vise versa. It still does it and it’s a shorter time traveling

Just a note if anyone is still doing this you don’t have to fast travel somewhere after you get credit. Just find a bench or somewhere to sit and wait 1 hour. Much faster than sitting through a load screen.

I literally need 1 more quest. I sided with the institute but, for the life of me, I cannot find a misc. quest.

How do you get rid of the stuff on the Misc in your inventory ?

You can also get this trophy by sending Eyebots to look for stuff and recovering it. This is a reliable way that doesn't require any faction.

I just need to board the vertbird 50 times to get the trophy?

I tried this and I think it glitched my game because I have 51 misc quests done and still haven't gotten the Mercenary quest.

btw you can also do this if you are aligned with the railroad tinker tom sells vertibird signals as well edit I can’t believe it’s been 4 years since I made this post I’m glad this helped so many people this is one of my favorite video games of all time

How do you get the wasteland diy

If you do red rocket glare, tinker tom will give you 3 vertibird signals and he also sells them so it's not only the BOS

Wait do you have to get 50 in one play through? Or does it count if you, let's say did 25 on your last fo4 play through, does this mean you have to do 50 or 25?

All I got left is the platinum trophy.

This should work out fine since i just won for the brotherhood, not counting the recent 5 achievements added due to the upcoming DLC this will be my last one since i got benevolent leader the other day (Took for fricken ever)

But will this work with the Railroad, cause don't they give you Vetibird Signals

This can also be done if you have sided with the Minutemen. You must have killed the BoS and destroyed the Prydwyn first. After that is done Preston will give you Vertibird Signal Flares and you can do this same process. Instead of buying them you rest for 24-48hrs and more will spawn in your workshop.
