Dickies is the only brand that actually stocks a wide selection of sizes. I’m a 28-30. Dickies has 29-30. Almost every single other brand starts at 30-30, and good luck finding anything smaller than 34-32 in person. Not everybody is a fat fuck, and dickies understands that

I watch your videos due to the thoroughness of your tests and although I may well place more emphasis on one category rather than another I applaud your testing. As a result of this video I began buying the Tractor Supply Blue Mountain jeans especially since they are regularly on sale for $15. Using the $10 rewards that I accrue during the year from other purchases I can buy the jeans for only $5.00, a great deal! I find them to be among the most comfortable jeans that I have ever worn and that includes many different brands during my 70 years. I would and have recommend them to anyone who wants functionality and not just a brand name on a tag.

Levi's is an extremely anti-American brand. Don't buy Levi's unless you want to directly support extreme far-left politics.

Love your videos bud, these have to take a lot of work to put together. I have been wearing wranglers for more then 20 years. They used to just be wranglers, now they are wrangler authentics. I have pairs that are 10-15 years old and people ask me where I got them sometimes because they look like those prefaded designer jeans poeple pay 100s for. Lol. I work for a company that collects used cooking oil and they provide us with wrangler riggs jeans. Thay are very durable but a little to heavy and hot for me in the summer. I have only been working here a year but they get used and abused and all 13 pairs they gave me look brand new even getting covered in grease and oil all the time and professionally laundered.

Keep up the good work sir.

I've had to stop buying Levis, Carhartt, and wranglers as they wear out way too fast. It's a shame all those companies have become less well made as they make the most comfortable and good looking work jeans on the market. I've had really good luck with blue mountain work pants I can get for like $15, and Timberland cargo jeans. The timberlands only cost me like $45 and lasted well over a year. They also looked really fashionable while still being entirely useful for working in.

I feel like it always depends on the model you choose as well... Like Levis has their basic stuff the 501, 505 etc but they also have these 511 Slim Fit jeans which come with Spandex 1% and 99% cotton or something, those will tear much faster (I believe) and they feel cheaper... best jeans in my opinion (for work) are Wrangler original Cowboy Fit. Best look, best comfort and durability. I also like Dickies though

The first time I tried Lucky jeans was the last time I wore other brands. That is, until i discovered how quickly they disintegrate in the crotch. I see some Wrangler Riggs in my future. Thanks PF!

In thinking about some of these tests, subtle differences in positioning might impact the results. What are your thoughts?

Such as when tearing the rear pocket, the angle of the pocket seams (square vs tapered) and the angle of the metal pieces... Both could impact how much force was spread to the side stitching deeper into the pockets vs. the top of the pocket.

Likewise, when trying to rip the crotch out, the way the knots were tied and the design/fabric cut in that area could impact how much force went through the center seams of the crotch (where the 4 pieces/2 seams of fabric meet) vs the force going through just one seam (the butt or the seam between the zipper and the crutch).

Btw, I'm still hoping to see a similar set of tests against top of the line, rugged work pants (Carhartt B01s and similar pants from Dickies, Wall, etc.).

In that test, you might also test how they resist tearing out an existing hole. Since these pants are intended to be abused, they're going to get holes in them. How well they resist letting those holes grow would be a good comparison (e.g., I know most of my denim jeans that start to blow out in the knee rapidly tear out all the way across). Since some fabrics (like denim) have different threads going up& down vs. side to side, testing tear strength should be done in both directions--using the weakest direction for the results.

Thx!
