Liberals won't disclose what they agreed to they say food prices should be frozen soon? when is soon and ever since they agreed to this prices have spiked 20% on everything i buy prices continue to rise month over month my grocery bills have doubled after 2020 if prices are based on price of fuel then why have the prices have not dropped? fuel prices are much lower than 2022.

It's a matter of economy, supply x demand, the government should instead reduce taxes in order to get price reductions, control expenses, reduce the fiscal deficit

The overhead of most of the stores, the lack of customers due to location and so on. Understand the prices are high yet they have to pay the bills too. Memberships like at COOP not working because of high rent and trying to offer high end food that is not. Founders and farmers, Loblaws, Superstore mostly paying for the privelege to shop there. Even No Frills is costing more. Paying for carts now then being charged for bags are some ways they are attempting to pay for the costs associated with customer wants. Good luck fixing prices. Stop spending money out of Canada, buy more Canadian produce, meat and have real free trade between provinces. 😂

This isn't about Trudeau. Stop your childish comments. Even 40 years ago, Loblaws was known for charging too much. Both Loblaws and Metro are making staggering profits while other retailers such as Walmart manage to keep prices down. This is about supply and an almost monopoly of food groups. Decades ago, we had at least 6 major chains and several smaller ones that could compete. Your ignorance about this situation is one of the reasons this has been allowed to happen. Choice of government won't change the price fixing. Investigations will. It's your money. Whine like babies about political leaders that come and go or look into the real reason inflation is here such as off-shore suppliers. Grow up.

Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau has announced measures to control rising living costs. While food prices are indeed a significant factor in the cost of living, it is important to consider the impact of energy prices, such as gas and diesel, as well. Energy prices can have a substantial influence on the overall cost of goods and services, including food. By addressing energy prices, it may be possible to alleviate some of the financial burden on consumers and potentially reduce food prices.

It is worth noting that the relationship between energy prices and food prices is complex, with various factors contributing to fluctuations in both markets. However, taking steps to manage and stabilize energy costs can be an important aspect of addressing living costs and supporting economic stability.

Addressing the petrol cartel's influence on prices is a crucial step for overall cost reduction, including food and housing. A more complete approach to economic stability is needed by this PM as well as all the worldwide leaderships, rather than addressing individual issues in isolation.

Why is the price of food increasing, it is driven by the main culprit the Federal Liberal Government.
Carbon tax on framers to grow our food
carbon tax on trucking to delivery supplies and food
additional fuel tax for truckers
carbon tax for retailers to keep food cold or hot
heating stores
increase payroll taxes, cpp & ei, for employers to pay in addition to wcb

Carbon tax to increase in April 2024

The big 5 have too much monopoly on the market share, there needs to be more competition in the food and telecommunications sector. They should also have more transparent balance sheets on profit margins submitted to the government and checked by third-parties every month.
