Good to know eye-af still works well with the Sigma 135. Definitely a good value. 👍

Exactly the same as my findings on this Body/Adapter and Lens combination.
Having tested the Canon 85mm 1.2 L II and the 70-200mm 2.8 LII lenses:
They are fast as well although the AF is limited to AF-S and AF-C only plus no Continues focus AF in Movie mode.
Eye AF works as good as the Sigma.

Thanks David! I have a question: I shoot a few dance recitals a year. I like to use my 85 1.8 and my 35 1.4 and want to get a 135 for when the 85 isn't close enough and there isn't enough light to use the 70-200 gm to get the clean looking shots I want. I know I'd love this lens for my portrait work but would I love it shooting dance?

Did you test low light focus speed? As a wedding photographer this is incredibly important to me. I saw Jared Polen’s test of this lens against the Sony 135 and it was pretty bad in low light focusing. If you still have it, would you be able to test and let us know?

Yesterday a new firmware for the mc-11 was released, that's supposed to improve autofocus with this lens. Did you make this video with this new version already?

Once again a wealth of knowledge there David ..like you fully round bokeh balls are neither here nor there for me it is the impact of the image and the evoking of emotion that moves me ..top review

Just a heads up guys the 105mm 1.4 @3 meters has a Depth Of Field of just 7cm while the 135mm 1.8 @3 meters has just 5cm Depth Of Field!. So by no means is the 135mm a slouch in comparison it's just something i would only get if you are shooting portraits primarily & if you shoot APSC & FF it works dual purpose as a 135mm & 200mm on Sony!

How was the video auto focus with the Mc-11 & Sigma EF 135mm? It seems to be a cheaper option rather then buying the FE 135mm

The native version with latest firmware beats the adapted one

Hi David!! Yup, here I am in 2021 nearly 2022 watching this video lol It's has really pushed me to go for the idea I have. I shoot both Sony (Sony A9) and the Canon EOS R5 and looking to shoot the sigma 135 1.8 canon version on the Sony as I already have the MC-11 (Ive adapted the 200 f1.8 canon EF) as well as on my EOS R5. So this video solidifies my idea of getting one lens that works on both :-) I've got the sigma 50 1.4, 85 1.4, and 135 1.8 canon mount all in my cart and going to use them across both systems since it works so well. A question did you have any issues with hunting on the outer edges of the frame? (The EF canon 200 f1.8 and f2 does have the little hiccup towards the edges of the frame)

Hi David,
I'm a Nikon shooter and own three Sigma Art lenses and they are my to-go lenses when shooting portraits.
I own the 50mm, 85mm, and 135mm and I'm very happy with the results, nice and sharp, with great colors and bokeh.
The downside for most people is that these lenses are heavy but I love big heavy lenses.

Thank you for the great videos, I started following most of your videos and the ones I look for are the videos about the Profoto A1.
I own three Nikon SB 910 flashes but want to sell them because I had a chance to get three Profoto A1 flashes (or small studio lights).
I haven't done anything with them yet but the ease compared with the Nikon flashes or regular flashes makes life so much easier.
