AND he was an indisputable war heroe. Greatest generation ever.
ОтветитьI remember watching A Family Affair as a young kid, so you and I may be of similar ages. He always seemed like such a gentle and kind Dad on that show. My guess is that the loss of his daughter was (perhaps) too much for him to overcome. I can certainly understand.
ОтветитьIt was the cancer diagnosis that he decided to take his own life.....
ОтветитьI remember when that happened. He had been in a TV movie where he played William McKinley not long before.
ОтветитьHe was also in Young Guns as Buckshot Roberts
ОтветитьMy youngest brother was named after him.
ОтветитьI always enjoyed watching Brian Keith in all of his movies. I especially liked him in the one of tge very first episodes of The Fugitive and Family Affair. He always expressed patience and compassion in that series.
ОтветитьHe just couldn't take the pain ! Anymore 😢😢😢
ОтветитьHe played a role in one of my favorite Westerns -- "Nevada Smith."
ОтветитьI kept seeing this video popping up so I finally watched it. I knew it would make me sad and it has. I loved watching Family Affair and Brian Keith was wonderful on that show. So was Sebastian Cabot. Johnny Whitaker and Anissa Jones were sweet and fun to watch when I was a kid. Kathy Garver I remember but I really didn't watch the show to see her that much. I remember hearing about the death of Anissa Jones in 1976. I didn't want to believe it at the time. I was very sad when I heard about Brian Keith in 1997. Keith and the rest of the cast felt like family to children back then. To me anyway. God Bless and RIP to all who have passed on. 🤗❤ Johnny Whitaker and Kathy Garver are still alive and working. ❤ 😘 Mrs. Beasley Great memories from my childhood. ❤
ОтветитьSteve, that was a sad ending. Thank you for sharing
ОтветитьDidn't know Brian was a fellow New Jerseyan! Great career. Knew of him from watching Family Affair. Such a sad, tragic ending to his life. RIP
ОтветитьBrian Keith was a remarkable man and an accomplished actor. He had so much tragedy to deal with in his life. The final straw was his daughters death. Hopefully, he's at peace now.
ОтветитьBRIAN KEITH WAS A TERRIFIC ACTOR. HE DID FILMS AND TELEVISION. I LIKED HIM IN HARDCASTLE AND MCCORMICK. VERY SORRY THAT HE TOOKED HIS OWN LIFE, SUFFERING FROM 2 CANCERS, PLUS LOSING HIS DAUGHTER VERY SAD, RIP MR. BRIAN KEITH🙏
ОтветитьI would love to see the percentage of major actors back in the day (major and back in the day someone else will have to quantify) that served I. The military compared to current actors that have served.
ОтветитьHe was a good actor & sad that his life had to end this way . Sometimes life just crushes you till you have no more will to live . He went thru a lot of heartache on top of his own medical issues. Didn’t know Peg Entwhistle was his step mother ! May he RIP 🕊️✨🕯️❤
ОтветитьHe'll always be Uncle Bill to me.
ОтветитьHe was great in all roles he played. Talented Individual with such a sad ending. Hard for me to understand. 🙏🙏
ОтветитьYes he was good, so the suicide was a DNA code repeating itself in the family IMO
ОтветитьThanks Steve
ОтветитьI loved Brian Keith.
ОтветитьHe seemed to be a nice guy everybody liked, I didn't know about his kiddo and thought it was just about the cancer. Annisa and Sebastion had sad endings.
ОтветитьHe was a great actor, imagine the feeling of being sick with cancer and knowing your daughter took her own life, can't say I would blame anyone for speeding things up.
ОтветитьI loved him since The Parent Trap. Family Affair and Hardcastle and McCormick only made me love him more. I think of him as dying from a broken heart 💔. R.I.P.
ОтветитьYou have a soothing voice and demeanor. Mellow guy.
ОтветитьVery sad when he took his own life, but I understand him not being able to go on without his daughter. I don't like when people have to live their life in misery... and I won't judge either. He was a great actor and I used to watch Family Affair all the time when I was in grade school. I thought he was wonderful in the original "Parent Trap".
ОтветитьSo sorry to hear how he died...i had a crush on him for years...what a great actor!...My favourite was A family affair..never missed an episode...Rest Easy Brian you've earned it..🙏🥀
ОтветитьI always liked Brian Keith. He was a very talented actor. Very sad to hear about all the sadness in his life. ❤🙏
ОтветитьI particularly liked Brian Keith in Nevada Smith where he comes across Steve McQueen & mentors his character.
ОтветитьLoved Brian Keith in The Westerner TV series
ОтветитьAnother Good Video. If you haven't done this person, I would like to see a video on Bob Krane.
ОтветитьThanks for the profile of one of my favorite actors from my childhood! "Family Affair" was one of my favorite TV shows. His father, Robert Keith was a well-known film and TV actor as well!
ОтветитьI also watched Family Affair when I was a kid. I saw him in Reflections in a Golden Eye a long with Marlon Brando and Elizabeth Taylor. That's pretty big league company there. I also have to mention Hooper. He was hilarious as the cantankerous Jocko Doyle.
ОтветитьLoved ❤ Family Affair!
ОтветитьOne of my brothers (born 1960) is named after Brian Keith although his first name is spelt with a Y: Bryan Keith U.
ОтветитьVery easy to like, remember him most from family affair.
ОтветитьYou ain't never gonna die Holmes! I remember family affair way back in the day. I don't know if people are aware of this
but sissy is in a clear captions commercial that's on just about every night. It's like a phone for hearing impaired people.
He is a favorite of mine. When I was little I watched Family Affair. He played a very good, Teddy Roosevelt in the Sean Connery movie, The Wind and The Lion. I was very sad when he died. I have been watching Family Affair on a retro channel we have. Tubi has it in their On Demand shows.
ОтветитьI thought he had a bad back and killed himself, cuz he couldn't take the pain anymore?
ОтветитьSo sad. I always liked him. ❤️🥀
ОтветитьI especially like his character in Nevada Smith.
ОтветитьI'm surprised you didn't mention the 1960 series 'The Westerner' as you showed a picture of Brian with 'Dog' from the show. It's the only series where John Dehner played a good guy and you can see that 'Dog' really loved John.
ОтветитьI dont agree that his ending was sad. It was a brave thing to do in my opinion.
He went to a better place rather than linger and suffer.
Poor guy. Having the cancer and emphysema is bad enough, then losing a child.
ОтветитьThanks for doing this video. I too grew up watching “ Family Affair “ and enjoyed seeing Brian Keith in many films and TV shows: I especially loved his character in “ The Hallelujah Trail”. I was saddened when he committed suicide and always wondered why;thanks for answering that sad question for me.
ОтветитьI will always remember him as being in the first episode of The Fugitive TV series with David Janssen. I also noted seeing him as you have said in a number of other roles that he played in other program series. Very sad about his daughter and him and how they perished!
ОтветитьI never knew how he died. Sad and sadder.
ОтветитьLast film I saw him in was Young Guns playing Buckshot Roberts. Small part but he certainly stood out in it and every character he played.
ОтветитьYou and I both.I never missed an episode of family affair either.I love the show And he was a wonderful actor unique with that special quality I was sad when he died. Especially in the way he did. But you sharing the story about his daughter? It says a lot
