May 2023 and you still can't get one in a reasonable time frame .. could be as long as 18 months.

By the time you get this car the whole new model will be out and you will be out and you will be watching it drive past your outdated one! Bummer.

yes, in my wife's Lexus RX, which is getting on now but it was the top of the range RX, the heating has always been poor when in auto mode. She just ups the temperature a lot. Instead I turn off the air con.

We are loving our Rav4 XLE hybrid. We've owned it for 18 months, taken long trips, the system works flawless. It behaves great on the hyway and don't have to worry about the weather with four wheel drive. Great to haul large items (washing machine).

The most important aspect for me and maybe a lot of people not wanting a sedan is to see how much room there is with the seats folded down in the back which wasn’t shown in great detail here but what we did get was a stupid gauge giving us some number that we can’t reference to tell us how hard or soft plastics or rubbers are in the car

I just bought the new Yaris Cross Hybrid 2 wheel drive. I work in a service center for this brand and I really like the look of these cars, side and rear profile, Im not a massive fan of the front profile. I love the interior despite what others think of it (being hard plastic and colour of interior). I like where Toyota is heading in the new cars and it's technology. Also I like that Totoya took a risk in the Yaris Cross with its colour schemes for outside such as latte & electric blue and the interior with brown trims and a hard plastic look.

It's already 2020s and they still have a pair of incandescent light bulbs at the back...

How do you manage to fill 15 gallons in the tank? My RAV 4 hybrid only can take 12 gallons when the fill gun jumps. Toyota acknowledged there is issue with the tank, but doesn’t offer recall. Anyone has this issue?

Enjoyed the review Paul,up to your usual great standard. We have ordered a white Rav4 Cruiser Hybrid 4wd last Sunday. Around 12months wait for delivery so our car will be the newer version being available from October 2022. Like you we were very impressed with the comfort and easy usability of the car we test drove. I've always regarded Toyotas as uninteresting appliances but this car with the improved suspension system that makes the car enjoyable to drive has won me over. Never ever thought I would say this about a Toyota, but there you are!

Hey Paul 👋🏼 May I ask if there’s a big difference between the GXL FWD Hybrid and Cruiser FWD Hybrid performance wise?

Also, would you know if the GXL FWD Petrol (2.0L non hybrid) is really underpowered?

I’m planning to buy one soon and my first choice was the GXL Petrol non hybrid. But after seeing reviews that it’s underpowered, I’m now a bit skeptic. Thanks in advance!

Thanks Paul. I’ve owned the 2020 model for 18 months. Watching your review it seems they’ve not changed anything in the 2021 model. This says a lot in my opinion. Love my 2020 cruiser. Even your review on the hybrid edge 2022 has maybe three more refinements over the 2020 cruiser. I now definitely see the value in buying the top spec. if possible. The added features are great and very practical. Used to think top spec depreciated more. Not with this car ! It’s held its value if not gone up a little albeit shortage of supply issues contributing.

Hi, just discovered the drivers seat position can be auto set to the entry key. So when I open the door with my key I get my position and when the wife opens the door with her key it moves the drivers seat to her position. Brilliant!

All that tech when the diesel has more grunt and far better range

Hi Paul, I wish you give more detailed reviews, put the bonnets up showing what these cars are really made of rather than showing the interior or exterior design, we can get those stuff from google, the most important parts of a car are the engine and the transmission not the dashboard or infotainment. My question for RAV4 was does it really worth going for Edge model rather than Cruiser given the only difference is CVT transmission.

You mentioned the three blank (non-assigned) buttons on the right hand side of the driver; well two of them are shown in the U.S. made version - heated wind-shield wipers and heated steering wheel. We just don't need them for Australian conditions. The third blank is still a mystery.

Any support for Auxillary (3.5mm audio input)?

Grabbing a AWD Hybrid Cruiser, Pearl White

Ordered the 2022 RAV4 Edge Hybrid AWD Atomic Rush with Orchid Brown/Light grey interior. Delivery in March.

Paul, have you driven the AWD Cruiser hybrid to compare with the performance of the FWD? Yes it is dearer but I think you may find it gives a better driving experience and perhaps more power up hills with all four wheels providing some push. Remember the RAV4 was initially developed as a 4wd car (Recreational Active Vehicle Four wheel drive).

C'mon, compare C-HR and RAV4. If they make RAV4 in style of CH-R - that would be a great car :)

Excellent review Paul. On the Cruiser and Edge models you can swap from digital speedometer to analogue speedometer via the settings menu. Interesting that in the 2022 update most of the missing features pointed out in the comments below will be included in the Cruiser model.

I have the GXL but will order the 2022 Cruiser soon. I was wondering how the JBL sound system works as no motoring journalists seem to review the sound of the speakers. The sound is just as important as the vehicle to me.

I Love the new RAV4 But i cant understand why it is more than $10000 extra in price in December 2021 why is it so ?

What you guys don't report is that i went into my Toyota dealership today with my cash deposit expecting to buy a Rav4 and was told that if i handed over my deposit that day i will be added to the waiting list of 18,000 and if i wanted a delivery it would be a minimum of 10 months
