i didn’t get a blanket for this, i got 4yrds of fabric, is it still doable?? i’ve never sown before😭
ОтветитьIlike somuch cloak cape
ОтветитьI got a cloak for my (I think) 30th birthday, and I've loved it and worn out as my standard outerwear since.
I wore it out in the rain recently and noticed a flaw. Namely, it's four bits of material shown together, so water soaked through the seams into the linen lining (I think it's linen).
So this totourial is very intrigued. Only issues are I'm rubbish at sowing and it doesn't look anywhere as big as the cloak I have.
I'm an avid bowhunter and wilderness adventurer. I want to make a cloak out of camouflage burlap but you mentioned not to use burlap. Is there anyway to make that work?
thanks
Michael
Excellent!
ОтветитьDamn you're pretty, and I'm so going to try this. I love the longer part at the back than just a wrap around look. (now where did they hide the save button this time...)
Ответитьim tempted to save this video and make a cloak waterproof poncho thing that can also be made into a small sturdy shelter when it begins to rain i live in Australia so something like that would be actually viable because of the rainy climate and im a big dude so i need a bigger cloak whitch means a bigger poncho shelter
Ответитьthank you, i'm wearing this to school on monday:)
ОтветитьMaking a note. NOT making fun of or picking. This is the 3rd content creator i've watched today that has had the left eyebrow nick/disconnected peace. Might have to research and see if its a deliberate artistry trend or just what eyebrows do randomly.
ОтветитьYou are ridiculously pretty and talented. Thank you for sharing this video, I am definitely following these instructions for my next cloak.
ОтветитьReally? 😓
ОтветитьDoes anyone have any tips for how to measure something like this for a toddler (roughly 3’ tall).
ОтветитьJ. R. R. Tolkien is pronounced Toll-Keen. I just wanted you to know. Great video! Thank you for sharing.
ОтветитьI fucking love cloaks 😂😂😂
ОтветитьI think I made the neck hole twice the size it should have been
ОтветитьBeautiful cloak! And I love the message at the end. You're awesome. I love the idea of "wear what you want, regardless of perception". I love a lot of so-called costumes and I think many of them would make great outfits. I know different girls I've dated had really pretty Halloween costumes and I was like "that's such a beautiful outfit that it could work even outside of the Halloween context. Would you consider wearing it in the future on a date?" And they liked the idea but never followed through because they feared what people may say (from what they told me).
ОтветитьI've wanted to start learning to sew for cosplay, and this is gonna be my first project! I couldn't find wool, though, so, I'm starting with fleece 😁
Ответитьexcellent , such a great toturial , thank you for sharing our knowledge:-) will definitely be creating one in this style:-)
ОтветитьNot gunna lie you lose me almost immediately at the sewing part. How are you sewing the small part that I cut out and then on top of that how is your actual hood piece already to shape. I’m lost confused and need help
ОтветитьYoung lady You are a breath of fresh air and a blessing.
God bless you and thank you for sharing..
I love your message at the end of the video.
ОтветитьYour face is over-painted :(
ОтветитьThis was such a complete and thorough tutorial! It is very accessible but still makes for a beautiful garment. Thank you!!!
ОтветитьGreat vid!
Wtf is the background muzak for?
Cool. Now show me how to look like a Nazgul.
ОтветитьIt's funny because basically I just made a blanket cloak using a twin size blanket and a clothespin I'm sorry safety pin
ОтветитьThanks for the tutorial! It didn't take me 30 min (more like 3 hours 😅) but the cloak turned out great!
ОтветитьDoes height matter when determining the length of the cloak? I see that your cloak hangs down to your ankles.
ОтветитьI love a cloak!!!
ОтветитьWow this is incredibly helpful. Also my friends joke that a cut in your eyebrow gives you +1 strength 💪 just an FYI 😂
ОтветитьI'm right here to make a costume of Shadow Wizard Money Gang🔥🔥🔥
Thanks!
I think cloaks only no jackets or coats I hate long sleeves and coats they are bulky and don’t always move with you
ОтветитьIm a little confused.. is the shorter end of the hood (the one she took half of the neck hole length for) the front of the hood?? Or is it the side where the fabric is folded..
ОтветитьI like your take on clothing — it's all just a costume.
I regularly wear a kilt. People aren't used to seeing it, so I get weird looks and even sarcastic comments about it. Still, I rock that shit because it's comfortable, and I can.
It's true! I've adopted your mindset as I've gotten older and I feel so much more comfortable and confident and I realized that instead of people thinking me silly for wearing this or that, most people actually respect me for following my own sense of style and fashion. Make it your own and people love it. I started wearing a kind of light, muslin cloak (as a guy) sometime last year and get nothing but compliments and omg-i-want-one's from friends and strangers out and about and at the bar I tend. Your quote about the governance of others' thoughts stood out to me, and yeah... my quote now 😂
ОтветитьI wish I could send you my Wool blanket so you could make this perfect....im willing to pay.
ОтветитьI may have to give this a try. I wonder if it will work with fleece.
ОтветитьIf I could make a suggestion regarding wool bankets suitable for this, US Navey wool blankets are available from mil-surplus stores. These are thicker ( and warmer) than Army blankets, whitch would be more suitable for warmer weather wear.
ОтветитьThank you this tutorial was amazing, I'm making an Ashoka cloak for my daughter and this gives me a base to start from.
ОтветитьCloak era incoming! I was always wearing a hoodie in this way! :D
ОтветитьNeed one for Ren Faire, but didn't see any good ones there and what was found was hugely expensive.
Ответитьcloaks can be really warm when made from the right material. 100% would recommend. you are also 100% correct, why should you care what others think? they don't know you and you them.
Ответить🔥 🔥 🔥
ОтветитьThanks for the tutorial
ОтветитьI found a lightweight wool blend blanket at Goodwill for $2, some sort of military surplus. I bought a Simplicity cloak pattern. Big mistake. I only used the hood and neck reinforcement pieces. The directions here are much simpler. I also added to the complexity by lining the hood with fake fur. The hood is trimmed with a tablet-woven 1 inch tape and a drawstring. Being an unconventional sort, I cut the blanket square, cut the neck hole in the center, then finished it as a poncho with corners hanging front, back, and over arms. I used the material left over from the hood to make pockets at the arm corners to act as mittens. Should be warm.
Ответитьoooooihhhh... that's it I'm making one.
ОтветитьThank you SO much this was the only good cloak video I could find that didn’t require $100 in supplies
ОтветитьI’m trying to find tuts for cloaks for my red riding hood custom and I think this might be a great idea
