Who got left off? Segovia, Django Reinhardt, Les Paul are some more that come to mind.
ОтветитьSo you basically don't know anything about half of the guys on the list and despite that you made this video
ОтветитьNo Brent Mason?
ОтветитьROY CLARK!!! Eddie Van Halen was asked once "How does it feel to be the best guitarist in the world" He said "I don't know. Go ask Roy Clark"
ОтветитьSorry but John Squire was cooler than Slash.
ОтветитьGustavo Cerati? Spinetta? Pappo? This seems more like greatest guitarists ever in North America/ the English speaking parts of Europe
ОтветитьTina S is top ten.
Ответитьthese fucking brainless lombards didn't include Marty Friedman should be #1
ОтветитьNone of the Stones can play! Why is Townsend on the list?
ОтветитьWho's Missing? Francis Rossi. Find another guitarist with more hits, more albums, more ticket sales; a great entertainer, a great guitarist. Left school at 16 went pro, 60 years and still performing in the greatest Rock and Roll band in history!
ОтветитьNuno.....George Lynch...Elliot Easton...Glen Campbell...... bad job kid....
ОтветитьWhere is Richard Thompson?
ОтветитьThese "Greatest Guitarists" lists are all silly. Notice that there are no jazz, classical or flamenco guitarists mentioned other than John McLaughlin. It's like those guitarists don't exist and to put John McLaughlin at 49 shows that the list's author and Mr. samuraiguitarist need to expand their musical horizons. There is a musical world beyond rock and there are many great, innovative and important guitarists in it.
ОтветитьMick Taylor absolutely shreds on the Sympathy for the Devil live track on Get Your Ya Yas out.
ОтветитьFroosh and Garcia all day for me. And while many might scratch their head at this one -- Elliott Smith is my favorite guitarist of all time.
Ответитьno lenny breau, chet atkins is a crime
ОтветитьMissing: Anthony Phillips, Roland Orzabal, Neil Young, Steve Hackett (Firth of Fifth solo is mindblowing technically and sound)
ОтветитьJesse Cook Spanish guitar SUPERB music for guitar 🤗
ОтветитьCheck out GOVI music for guitar Andalusian Nights SUPERB tracks Spanish and electric guitar SUPERB
ОтветитьRoy Buchanan
ОтветитьPeter Green's early blues recordings are incredible. Zappa should be in 2nd place imo. John McGlaughlin should be listened to in Mahavishnu Orchestra records to be appreciated.
ОтветитьClearly this is a list of popularity and renown. The goat trio. My opinion: Lane, Holdsworth, Govan.
ОтветитьMuch as I love nirvana, kurt Cobain was not a great guitarist. He played to the song well but he was a perfectly average rhythm player but nothing more. His solos are kinda garbage too
ОтветитьJimie Hendrix, Please the guy couldn't read, or understand music, if you heard one lick of Hendrix, you heard them all, just mind numbing noise, a noise that you couldn't dance to, sing with, relax with, unless you were on some kind psychedelic fix. When you have to smash, or put your guitar on fire, use electronic musical noise makers to get attention, it's because your music talent is lacking a simple musical melody. How this guy is rated the best guitar is an insult, he could not play anything out of the rock gener.
ОтветитьKim Simmons from savoy brown destroys most of these guys
ОтветитьAlthough only for fun, if you don't have enough knowledge I would feel a bit low. Quite presumptuous if you pass judgment on a number of guitarists you happen to know....
ОтветитьI love Angus Young but as a guitarist, him above the likes of bonomassa, Paul Gilbert and synyster gates and petrucci is laughable. He's iconic but has never been technically brilliant
ОтветитьMichael Schenker not on this list makes this list totally irrelevant. There are 4 05 guys on here that have said Schenker is their idol and wished they could come close to playing like him.
ОтветитьI'd put David Gilmour at #1 I guess it's not hard Rock so ok but otherwise he should be. Marco Pirroni and Daniel Ash should be on the list unless you HAVE to have guitar solos.
ОтветитьZappa!
Ответитьlook phil keaggy
ОтветитьWhen Steve Lukather isnt in the top 50 you know its bullshit.
ОтветитьDimebag Darrell - Pantera - The Sleep 🎸
ОтветитьIm impressed Fripp is on the list at all but feel he should be higher
ОтветитьUli Jon Roth, Michael Romeo, Glen Tipton, Vinnie Moore, George Lynch?
Ответитьwho cares, it's such a wanky thing to do.
ОтветитьI agree with you about Robin Trower and Tom Morello. In fact, I’d probably swap Robin Trower and Carlos Santana in the list. Would add Eric Johnson for sure and probably add Alan Holdsworth in there someplace too. Just my two cents.
Ответитьi think les Paul shoud be on t
ОтветитьLes Paul, Eric Johnson, Neal Schon, Roy Clark.
ОтветитьGary Moore...a blues guy....Well, he might be the most versatile player ever. Started out in the late 60s early 70s with prog-rockers Skid Row. Then used the 70s to sement him as one of the worlds best guitarists. He did hard rock with Thin Lizzy and jazz/fusion with Collusseum II. In the 80s he did the hard rock guitar hero full blast and gave out some outstandig records. He did musicals with Andrew Lloyd Webber, was a session guitarist with Greg Lake. Did Evita with Madonna. Played blues during the 90s and 2000s, but did all and everything in between. So if Still got the blues is your only reference, you're in for a ride. No one has ever played with more fire and raw emotion than Gary Moore. As Glen Hughes stated; - He was the best, and I've played with all of them.
ОтветитьObvious one missing to me, Frank Marino. The most underatted guitarist on the planet. Five Decades at the top of his game. Psychedelic, Rock, blues, Jazz maestro. Highly rated by the greatest guitarists but not really known by the masses. Listen to ain't dead yet or live at the agora theatre on you tube. I rest my case. Builds his own equipment and pedals like Tom Scholtz. Signed at 16 years old to record label , record producer and sound engineer at 18.
ОтветитьIts not your list, but since you gushed over Mick Taylor, consider this: No mention of Alvin Lee, who let Mick Taylor be the 2nd guitarist in the Alvin Lee Band. You praise Taylor, google Alvin Lee with Mick Taylor ...
ОтветитьYour ignorance of the subject matter is astounding, you really phoned this one in.....zero effort expended on this...
ОтветитьSRV #1, Tommy Emmanuel #2, Gary Moore #3, Hendrix #4
(Putting Gary Moore behind Iommi, Beck, May, Clapton, Page, Gilmour, & Blackmore is beyond crazy.)
Best? There are thousands of amazing unknown guitarists out there! One of my favourites is Charlie Owen.
ОтветитьMike Bloomfield, Ry Cooder, Robert Cray and perhaps Mick Ronson.
ОтветитьTerry is my favorite
ОтветитьWhere is Steve Hackett
