Such talent to simultaneously entertain both children and adults with such ease and wit!
ОтветитьI am 46 years old, and never missed a Pee Wee's play house. He was part of my childhood. He really is an icon and brought me so much joy. Watching this today, makes me nostalgic of simpler times. Thank you Paul Reubens for all of the laughs. You will be missed. Rest in Peace
ОтветитьBIG TOP PEE WEE was a TOTAL BUMMER. The 2nd movie SHOULD have been "PEE WEE IN A HAUNTED HOUSE". w/ Tim Burton Back as a director.
ОтветитьIf anyone's interested paul did a great interview with jesse thorn on bullseye a couple years ago, made me appreciate him even more
ОтветитьI have half those toys, myself! Hahah. Including the little loudspeaker for a bike (also with fire/police/ambulance sirens.)
ОтветитьSponge Bob ripped paul off
ОтветитьDave was remarkably patient with Pee Wee in the early 80's. The late 90's CBS Dave would be too much of a surly curmudgeon and lose patience with him.
ОтветитьDave didn't get the joke at first I guess. The first few appearances of Pee-Wee on the Dave Letterman show were pretty dismal because of Dave's awkward, eye rolling responses to anything Pee-Wee did . Was he trying to embarrass Pee-Wee? I guess you have to be successful for Dave to be respectful. Hey that rhymed. HAHAH
ОтветитьA friend and I saw him in 1983, for $5, in concert at the University of Puget Sound field house (gymnasium!!) Festival seating, we sat on folding chairs, and he entertained for more than TWO HOURS SOLID without a warm up act or any breaks at all, except to say, when someone behind us got up and went to the restroom (which was directly behind where we were seated) "I know where you're going!!" And when the person came out from the restroom, PeeWee said "Did everything come out all right??" He had already had his now famous HBO special (which my friend and I watched numerous times) and performed for us, a crowd of MAYBE 300?? I stood up to take a photo of him while he was doing his "Big Shoe Dance" and he STOPPED so I could get a decent photo!! He was truly one-of-a-kind, a most wonderful entertainer. Gone way too soon.
R.I.P. Paul "PeeWee" Reubens💜💜💜
I liked him and his show from watching him on Saturday mornings. Funny, innocent and so creative. I only saw him in the Johnny Depp film "Blow" years afterwards. I have some of the toys from the show. For me. Not my kids.
ОтветитьRip beautiful Paul Rubins u made a lot of people smile🇨🇦🇨🇦😔
ОтветитьDamn. Alot of celebraties passed on and it didn't affect me much. But I cried like a baby over this lil white boy, brought a lot of laughs to me my brother and sister during some rough times back in the 80s. Why you had to go Peewee. 😢You make everyone smile and laugh.
Ответитьyou can tell Pee Wee is still working out the character the voice and the laugh
ОтветитьThe brilliance is making such a simple seeming character with such an in depth personality, and never breaking character.
ОтветитьThe next door neighbor impression is SO NEW YORK!
ОтветитьThis WAS classic 80's. This episode was in 1983...before both the Pee Wees Playhouse on CBS and movies. I think it went syndicated on CBS past 1985. The little laugh was so classic.
ОтветитьI'm pulling for Pee Wee
ОтветитьSuch a one of a kind original character and person. He was so very very funny and kind. Today's comedians are all garbage and can't hold a candle to this kind of humor. Their humor is ugly and dirty because that's all they have. I got to meet him a few years ago and he was just as nice as could be. And all of those that are about to say I didn't meet him I say- Did so! Did so!
ОтветитьThanks for posting this and for the memories. I remember some of these from when they were first on. The early 80s were the Pee Wee years.
ОтветитьThank you so much for putting this great compilation together! Paul Reubens was one of a kind and such a sweet soul. A lot of hearts are broken over his passing, including mine. This really cheered me up today.
RIP Paul Reubens and thank you for all the laughter you brought to so many people. You won’t be forgotten!
🌹
Pee Wee and Dave both started with a cult following.
ОтветитьI ALWAYS THOUGHT SPONGEBOB SEEMED A LITTLE FAMILIAR 💪🧐💯
ОтветитьPee-Wee's Big Adventure was a big part of my childhood. I also loved Paul Reubens character in the movie Blow was another one of my favorites. Great human being who was really kind.
ОтветитьThe laugh was at its most brutal here.
ОтветитьRIP
ОтветитьI loooove Pee Wee Herman. Who among us hasn’t had a regret or “embarrassed” ourselves … As a child of the 80’s I feel like the last generation that TRULY understand the value of the childhood experience we all shared - no caller id… couldn’t walk further than a couple feet away from the family for any phone privacy (unless your folks were brave enough to get the gratuitously long cord 😆). We watched hours of television and ….you may wanna sit down…. PLAYED OUTSIDE, riding our bikes… exploring..just hanging out- and everyone knew what the hell the phrase, “Tell ‘em LARGE MARGE sent ya” was all about. Wow. No computer of any brain damaging caliber until we were in high school and they were so slow and novel (to the general public) that we had no idea how they would …sooo very soon … change life in ways we wouldn’t or perhaps couldn’t imagine or comprehend. We used to be kind and respectful to one another for the most part…. You can’t get punched in the teeth though a computer monitor - folks will say the wildest and cruelest things without a second thought now. Doesn’t bother me- but kids lives… oh wow. We were the last of the innocent ones I think. There’s no escaping the grasp of all the evil reaching out for these poor kids on every front.
That was a downer. Not very pee wee of me. I am just trying to remind the others of my generation how fortunate we were, are.
Hug someone who needs it yall.
Peace.
“Mecka lecka hiiigh mecka heiney ho”
That was one HUGE piece of chocolate cake and Pee Wee goes AAAAAAGH AAAAAATH
nothing more and is so funny.
Overrated and about as funny as a fart in an elevator.
ОтветитьGod bless Pee-wee Herman
ОтветитьThis never gets old...
ОтветитьI’m a child of the eighties and he’s one of my childhood heroes
ОтветитьSo many little things I remember now...I am 41 years old in 2023 now..wow I can't believe how long the intro was
ОтветитьDid Pee Wee ever come back after he made it big?
ОтветитьPee Wee's dad was a famous fighter pilot in WWII. No kidding.
Ответить3 yrs before his Big Adventure
ОтветитьMiss you !!!!!!!!! 💙💙💙
ОтветитьThanks Don.
ОтветитьI thought Pee Wee was really funny, but I thought Dave was acting like an utter asshole
ОтветитьEverybody had such a big, phat, greasy one stuck way up there. Unfortunately nothing has changed since then. MAGA anyone?
ОтветитьThe bit with Joe Theisman is still one of my favorite Late Night moments.
ОтветитьThat stammer says there may have been some speed assisting....the 80s,,,,
ОтветитьRest In Peace PeeWee
Ответитьmy daughter and I love peewee..do delightful
ОтветитьI was on board at first encounter and dance. I was like: "This dude is on to something. I'm in, 100%. I could see from the start that Dave was clearly highly amused facilitated him, bringing him to my / our attention. It was like seeing Sam Kenison for teh first time. An original force of nature. I loved The Playhouse and all the movies. RIP Mr Rubens; a comic revolutionary.
ОтветитьIm team peewee l
ОтветитьThe bomb.
