As some sort of addition, in the advanced game option you should set ntsc mode and vsync, the ntsc will give you way better colors, especially the menu colours will be desaturated to look nicer, aswell as the vsync will remove the tearing you could see in your gameplay at some points.

I got og FF7 for Xmas as a kid the year it released. The chibi models always piss maxed me. The battle models should have been used instead throughout the game.

I just installed this on my ROG Ally. Does anyone know how to make it so that my save file syncs with Steam so I can switch between devices with the same save file? 7th Heaven creates its own folder outside of Steam's system directory

i have a translation of the game that interferes with echo-s caus echo changes the text in menus etc, is there a way to put echo-s only for voice over?

everything seemed to go well up until the end of the first battle, the screen freezes after the victory pose and before the fade to the experience gain level screen 😢

Its 2024 - everyone has winRAR. Windows tells you when you need it. No one came here to watch a winRAR tutorial or to learn how to download the game from steam. I cant convey how much this annoys me. Dont meant to be a downer. Great video other that.

When i go in the general settings i only see 2 paths not all the options you have

voice acting is one of my top 3 "do not want" items when it comes to ff7.

I'm a little bit confused with the FFNx files I know the FFNx-FF7_1998 is for Final Fantasy 7 and the FFNx-FF8_2000 is for Final Fantasy 8 but what the hell is the FFNx-Steam file fore?

I followed this guide exactly but every time I try to play it says it cant find the exe and a box comes up saying to insert disc 1 2 or 3 ?? Anyone know about this ?

i reccomend to stick with the chibi style models, it takes away too mutch immersion to run with the hd style since a lot of the charm the game had to offer revolves arround it, and no matter how well the backgrounds etc look like in hd, it simply feels like your charackter is ten times taller than he should be in certain areas, espacially when you run into npcs wich dont have the same sort of scale. maybe one day, they manage to remake the enemie models and certain npcs too but till that day i cant actually reccomend the hd style models.

i tried out new thread 2.0 since its the only playstyle that allows you to save Aerith instead of loosing her but i gotta be honest to you.... it is way way way,
way way way way way way way, way way way way, way way.... waaaaay.... too hard. you're litterly getting 0 xp , multiplieing materia for the Ultimate 7 times knight of the round wombo combo is a wet dream that never ever will happen if you choose to play this mod. so dont get mad if you attempt to play the mod without ever feeling like tripple sayajin goku lol

this gamemod is mean and scales up with your teams abilities, some say it makes the fights consistant interresting, i say, it breaks immersion since the og ff7 gave the grind as an option to the players, this mod, forces excessive ammounts of grind just to progress, so i actually gave it up before the aerith rescue part, i was stressed out once i reached Junon in this mod, and that alone took like a week of everyday gameplay. it just never lets you breath easy, every encounter feels like a bossfight you barely survive. it changes a lot, and i realy do like the changes that it makes in some areas wich completely allow to alternate the outcome and the ways you might be choosing at some points of the game. i caught myself laughing my ass off multiple times cause of the charming way they indroduce these changes to the player but dont ask me if it was worth the hustle... and i realy did like the 70 - 80 days grind the og game had in store for me in order to beat everything in one attack and have all the chocobos in the world in store, but this is grind on an other level, some people wont finish this mod as it is right now, before they go to retirement.

i have not jet messed arround with the eso voicelines and i can imagine they add a lot of immersion to the game where it was lacking before.
but modding the game and keeping everything updated, at least once or twice, forced me to reinstall windows in order to make space on my harddrive lol

i experienced issues with steam in cooperation with the savefile and modfile location, steam wont allow you to choose any other location than your harddrive C, that alone ment, i had to rearrange my entire savespace just to make enough space for the game and its mods. so make sure, you start with a clean Local C drive, make backup copies of important savegames of other games you might want to play later on, cause that makes it way easier to realy have a clean local C Drive before you start with the installation shinanigans.

once it runs, it runs buttery smooth and realy is a remakes worth for the old game title who still, up to this day, has one of the most engaging gameplay and story elements, you'll ever encounter in a rpg.

Currently going through and adding these mods to the game. I ran across an issue immediately upon installing 7th Heaven where it did not make a mod folder (and 7th Heaven Folder within) in the folder that the game files of FF7 are stored.

I started downloading a lot of the mods you recommended and when it came to hitting the "play" button. I got a repeated error of it not being able to find the two folders that I just mentioned.

I don't know how to play the game with these mods based on the error that I am receiving. Help.

Shouldn't we download the Steam release of FFNx instead of the 1998 version since we bought the Steam version?

hey i dont know why but ive followed your steps up to the point where i have run the 7th heaven .exe and when i do it just says "this action is only valid for products that are currently installed" and ive tried everything to get it to work and there's nothing on the internet on how to fix it and i did buy FF7 on steam. i was wondering if you knew anything about that?

For some reason I can't get 7th heaven to run the game. It keeps telling me "Failed to find game disc" Initially it was being caused by my steam library being installed on my "S" drive rather than my "C" drive but I got round that by telling steam to move the install folder. Pressing play after that on 7th then asks me to create a copy of the game install due to steam's protected folders. Saying no to this just aborts the process. Saying yes copies the install over and automatically assigns the new game path but then just gives me the "failed to find game disc" error. I've tried reinstalling both ff7 and 7th Heaven several time with no joy... Any ideas?

Followed this almost exactly and I have one issue that I noticed since the opening cutscene. The field models that are layered on top of the FMV's are not synced up with the video. The 3D model animations are way too fast and finish way before the FMV is done. I tried fixing this with and without 30FPS FMV mod enabled. Also with and without 60FPS mod enabled
Has anyone else run into this issue and discovered a fix?

It doesn't work anymore. Installed Fnx 1.16 and installed 7th heaven but after updated the canary version, error about management thing (ask me if i want to downgrade). So i can't download any mod in the catalog of 7th heaven :(

can´t get this to work. It say´s i should downgrade my Version everytime o start the application. And if i start the game, the game crashes when i press a button and leads me to github.

So this may be an odd question that most people probably won't come across but I loaded this onto my OLED steam deck and when I launch the game with 7th Heaven it is forcing HDR which looks completely terrible and there is no way I can see to disable this from the deck itself. If I launch the game normally without 7th Heaven it does not load HDR which is what I want. Does anyone know a fix for this?

The only bad thing is that we can't play in any portable device or emulator... There is no good visual mods to play on PS1 or PS2 emulators...

Very important to know: If your 7th Heaven is buggy (drop-down menu and some buttons doesn't work) use the compatibility mode Windows 7 on the 7th Heaven Launcher!

Had the itch to replay final fantasy 7 again with some newer mods and followed your setup exactly. Everything is in the same order on 7th heaven and its been running incredibly smooth up until you fight Jenova for the first time in Hojo's laboratory. Now the game freezes constantly to the point that I cannot even play it. The screen freezes but I can still hear the footprints of my character and even fights trigger so i'm clearly moving around except my screen is stuck when it froze. I loaded without mods to get passed the part where it was freezing each time but even afterwards when you're finding Shinra dead its freezing randomly.

@BltzZ - Yo man! I've been thinking about it for a long time- the best way to play/stream ff7 og. My PC is...alright. It runs modern programs like Ableton Live 11 Suite fine. The graphics card is trash tho, Intel(R) UHD 630...So my question is, what is the best route for me to go with regard to playing/capturing/streaming og ff7? I have a PS1 of course, and ff7 with all three discs, memory card (not knock off brand -__-), and I could somehow capture the video/audio from that...

I have a great internet connection going straight into the desktop via ethernet. My webcam is very dated and is some old Logitech. I've been having success running SNES games like ff6 and streaming/capturing those via Twitch, but that is not with Steam.
PS. Any chance in heck I can play FFXIV? (ff14)? I know that my graphics card is definitely holding me back- it's native and default and blah. I can't invest much if anything $$$ wise at this time, but I may be able to max out my RAM. I believe it can do 64 gb (currently it's got 32gb RAM).

Why is it I don't have Movies or Textures in my settings like you do? All I have is FF7 Exe and Library.

For anyone doing this now, and only have 2 paths in settings; devs removed movies and textures path selection. No need to worry about it.
