How I View the US After 15 years Living Abroad

People don't care nothing about America. They want to make their lives better, no matter who they hurt. They are some of the most selfish group of citizens of any generation prior.

Many of us would LOVE to see the world, but who can afford it?

Media, unfortunately, condensed to a few outlets owned by the very rich.

You are so proud to be an American, yet lived in a communist country for years?

Ok.

America..

The problem is the unseen forces. For one, becoming more and more godless. Two, allowing a monopolization of huge trillion dollar companies that have the powers that be in their backpocket. We have forgotten our way as a democratic republic and it started down a wrong path decades ago. 1913 was not a strong year. This influence has placed an influx of ideologies that are not what this country was built upon in the earliest days. And it has placed those ideologies etc upon the people with such subtlety as if a magician force. Ideologies become political points become policies become a way of life. And not a good one.

But don’t worry you may feel right at home in Amerimao by the time you are an old man.

And btw your Trump comment may not age well. (To be clear I am not a fan of either of the low hanging fruit we as Americans have to choose from, so no MAGA here)

On a more restrained and positive note…

I do agree about pharma and the health “industry”. I know first hand. I work in the medical field.

I have not lived abroad. But I have spent time in other countries. And some wonderful ones at that. Food is better, air feels more free, there is a different “feel” to the places. Some connection that perhaps root based, I dont know. So I do get it. We can learn from other cultures and countries. We are not correct in all we do. We need to wake up. On that we can agree.

I do not watch TV. I do not take my political “food” from soundbites or videos. I read. And read both sides of viewpoints. People stay in a bubble here because they choose to. People eat trashy food, drink liquids that are damaging to the body, look and read things that are mentally and spiritually unhealthy because they choose to. That is a personal choice and no country should be the sole reason for the cause of not doing what we should.

I also agree we are way to materialistic. We buy and consume and throw away. Rinse and repeat. Totally agree with you. I also agree with you concerning money. Our focus has made a system evil.

Capitalism can be a empire builder or a weapon against it.

Communism however is a one way street. Just to keep the latter in perspective and in contrast.

So yes, pardon me if your video is off putting. And not in a patriotic or supportive manner for America. And this comment may sound confusing. At one point I am agreeing with you yet seem offended by you at the same time.

My problem is this:

Instead of staying here in America and contributing to working out Americas problems as a contributing citizen you choose for years to contribute to a communistic society instead.

That is the bottom line for me with folks such as yourself that do nothing to contribute other than “America=Bad” and run off to China or Canada.

We need people as yourself to fight for this country not run from it because it has issues.

Thankfully as an American I wont be arrested for expressing what I have expressed.

I lived in the United States from 1856 - 1901. The Grant years were the best but other than that it was total shite. I couldn't believe the influence that Big Pomade had on everything. I used to play horseshoes with my friend Yosh but we couldn't get 4 rounds in without someone trying to sell us pomade out of the back of a wagon. I got so tired of it, I took my musket and got on a ship to Seychelles. You dislike politicians, yet you blamed 12 years of democratic nightmare out of 16 on someone who is not a career politician. By your calculation it'll take 100 years to reverse the damage done by your party. You speak like a lobbyist cozying up to Chinese politicians. Blind to your own hypocrisy. I find Americans are very judgmental of other countries and quick to lecture to the world about how our nations, despite their extreme lack of knowledge of this world. The USA is the only nation I know of where mothers are charged a hospital fee for holding their own newborn child. That's insane.

In Russia, maternity leave is 2 years all paid at full salary and they keep your job for you. In America my wife got only 12 weeks from her employer. Thank god for Covid, she's been working from home ever since anyway

I left for México 2 years ago. Yesterday my friend in US who haS asthma asked me to buy her a spay that is selling in Mexico in any farmacy for 50 dollars and if you buy three you only pay for two. In USA she said the same spray costs 600 dollars!! and you need a prescription from the doctor (another 200 dollars for the 3 min visit). What a scam America is!

I think your third point is a direct consequence of your first point. The media is partly the cause of this 'bubble' you speak of. A flood happens in Brazil and we never hear about it. I think it is unfair to say one group of people are less intelligent than another when they know only what they hear. Traveling is great if/when you can afford it, but many cannot. Glad you could.

Nice message about the similarities between people in different countries. I worked in travel medical assistance and we were sending guarantees to hospitals and medical centers for our clients and the basic amount for the Us was twice the amount for the rest of the world. I dont imagine how it is to have debts for health, I'm French and I live in Spain. There is a real public health system even with limitations because there are cuts in the budget each time there is a crisis, but we are lucky.

Overall, I agree with you, especially the American "bubble", which is how I often describe it to people. I have to point out your obvious hypocrisy about our divided country and how there aren't enough people in the middle, then saying Trump is the worst thing to happen. But whatever, everyone has their opinion. You're definitely correct about the divided media and pharmaceutical company influence. I've lived outside of the US for a long time also, and I see a lot of the same things.

It’s surprising how much more things cost in Europe than in North America. Everything from Japanese cars to hand tools.

I like watching American sports, going to the movies and ordering stuff online that comes in less than 4 days. I mute TV ads. I’ve traveled to many foreign countries many of which are dirty and the people are unfriendly. This guy likes China where you can get locked up for criticizing the government.

I am one of the few in the middle. I watch alternative content often from people outside the US who know way more about geopolitics and history than available otherwise. I agree with every point Cyrus made. He is somewhat more optimistic about our future than i am.
