2023 Ford Ranger V6 (inc. 0-100) detailed review: RIP all other utes?

Im so confused. I have a xlt v6 on order for 69k with on roads in Sydney due in march 23 and also have a wildtrak on order for delivery in a few weeks for 86k plus on roads. I don’t see how the wildtrak is 17k better

Does anybody know whether this new Ranger has the same driver seating position as the older model? Wondering if leg room, head height, etc are the same.

There's a lot of good stuff in this entry level ranger...the V6 is a much better unit for towing trailer's, boats and caravans... every thing you want and nothing you don't!!!.😎

For a big looking ute interior room is crap. We have them and navarras for work utes. I like the Nissans ride and they handle better. The fully digital Speedo is puss 2.

Bloody hell. First time I have watched your reviews and I am super x 100 impressed with it (ranger v6). I HAVE subscribed and currently have a 2018 3.2 and just purchased a boat that reaches the max 3500kg so was wondering if the V6 is a better option. Given that many of the Rangers are purchased for old buggers like me for towing...it would be really cool for you to do a review of each vehicles towing performance. Sure, what you have said can be deduced for this purpose but many viewers (I think) would thrive on a "towing" performance review series as an adjunct to your 'normal' reviews and certainly increase you views and subscriptions. For a commercial vehicle, the 2.0 four cylinder that has more power and torque and better refinement than the old model’s much larger and heavier 3.2 litre. The 2.0 not only has more than enough power and torque but is cheaper than the V6 to buy, cheaper to fuel, service and potentially, to repair and run long term. That’s assuming that both engines are equally reliable with similar long life. At this stage in both engine’s production life, they should both be well sorted.

The XLT and Wildtrak versions we get in the UK now apparently all come with the 4A drive mode even with the 2.0 twin turbo engine.

One thing you didn't mention, does the engine cut out when stopped at traffic lights etc...?
Finally, how much is a canopy for the rear.

I might of been ripped off by my $73 2022 sport

Took the 2023 2.0 & 3.0 V6 XLT for a test drive for near 2 hours each. Both great drives & both have there pros & cons. After a long hard think I desided to go with the 2024 XLT 3.0 V6. Arrives March. Cant wait.

It seems like the European 2023 ranger has more options then the 2024 american Ranger

My 2018 was getting serviced and I got one as a loaner, a lot of improvements but the instrument cluster/screen is definitely not one of them, frankly it's shite. The issue I had with the 10" screen was it wasn't as sensitive as my PXIII, found I had to touch a tad harder. But as I said I really missed the analogue layout in the cluster.

The one thing I learnt from this video was the 3.0lt engine was from a landrover/rangerover. Was about to buy one but that scares the hell out of me.

So I just picked up a new Ranger Wildtrak V6. I wan to know why none of the reviews I have seen never discussed the fatigue management systems in the Ranger along with the problematic lane centering system. The fatigue management system or a serious distraction and I believe a hazard. I got told to have a break less than 5 minutes after having done so. The Lane keeping is another big issues that I have never seen comment on. Driving the pot hole riddled Bruce Highway I turned off the Lane keep crap because I was constantly dogging pot holes. The stupid bloody system was turning its self back on while driving and of course because I was dogging pot holes the car said to have a break again. I want to know why you reviewers have never mentioned this?

We found the previous model lacked strength in the rear suspension,quite often causing the Ute to jump across the road in spots of serious potholes , the quick and easy fix was a suspension upgrade but really , build it to handle off road to start with.
Fuel tank size is another issue , I want more than a 1000 kms out of a tank and more than 600 when towing .
All these things add cost to the vehicle and it’s the same thing on every model
So I’m leaning towards the XLT for my next one otherwise it’ll cost 100 k

Hi

In Europe we get the weirdest combinations. You only get the V6 Diesel in the Wildtrack and Platinum models. Both with 18inch wheels. So you have to buy 17 inch rims to buy proper offroad tire. We cannot get this XLT with V6. I would love to be able to buy the TREMOR or Wildtrack X with a V6. Or I wish the Raptor had the 3,5t towing capacity. Seems like every model is missing something.
