ОтветитьI don’t think people understand. Alicia is in EVERY scene of this movie. The amount of effort that takes is inane.

The father knew what to say, he said, " hey you, if anything happens to my daughter I've got a 45 and a shovel, I doubt anybody will miss you."

Ответитьi find airheads like this 2 b the worst evil in the world, playin into capitalism, self absorbed and harmfully dumb. shes even sexist, 2, u literally could not find anyone worse than fake plastic ppl who only care about themselves n shoppin. only a prson ignorant of the world n livin under a rock would see them as anything else. tyrannical evil like u see in movies don't exist n u'd have 2 be poison 2 think otherwise. frackin done 4 gold is very evil u kno. a conscientous wordly prson wouldn't own a computer or a cellphone. or a game console. or a car. lets go bully preteens 4 having prepubescent voices n 4 eatin bread. drugs kill ppl n make up contributes 2 slavery.
Ответить"You drink?"
"No thanks, I'm cool."
"I'm not offering."
Dan Hedaya was the best in this. "I own a .45 and a shovel. I doubt anyone will miss you."
Still one of the best Jane Austen adaptations.

Ответитьvery strange to see Paul Rudd in this - - in 2018 he stars in THE CATCHER WAS A SPY
ОтветитьI feel weird looking at the comments and being the only dude here but I love this movie. There aren't any truly perfect or truly awful characters (except Elton of course). Even the guy who robs Cher says "Count to 100. Thank you." before he runs off with her purse. Even showing some depth in his character. From just him saying "Thank you" you can imagine that he feels bad for what he's doing and is probably a decent person in a tough situation and mugging people is his last resort. I even remember, based on his demeanor, wondering if the gun was even loaded or the safety was off.
When Tai insults Cher: First of all I was caught off guard by Cher's sheepish but vulnerable response. She says "Oh, that was way harsh, Tai" and begins to tear up, being genuinely hurt, not just because the insult but because she cares about Tai's opinion. As opposed to her immediately retorting with an insult about Tai being poor, not as pretty, etc. And at the same time, when Tai insults Cher, I instinctively began distancing myself from liking her character in my mind. Likely because in a movie about one snarky person being humbled, a humble person gains popularity/status and becomes a terrible person. A caricature of who they once were. The arch of Tai being the villain was already forming in my mind.
Then... Tai says they shouldn't talk until they're both clear headed and leaves. "That's a mature response". And the next time they see each other, Tai apologizes and so does Cher. And that's the end of that argument. Tai is just normal ole Tai again.
It subverted a lot of my expectations and movie tropes I had in mind. That's why I enjoyed this movie so much. While characters might not have been entirely more than 1-dimensional, they were at least 1 and half dimensional (???). Just like in life, people aren't black or white, but some shade of grey. I loved this movie for that. It was refreshing and kept me on my toes.
Uhhh you left out Dionne’s boyfriend’s hilarious retort to Cher about her date
ОтветитьNever watched this....glad that I didn't. 😂
ОтветитьI love this movie, I recommend it to anyone 10/10
