What's new in KONTAKT 7 | Native Instruments

I've not yet updated to Kontakt 7 as it dropped quite soon after I paid for the Kontakt 6 update which was annoying. I wasn't keen on shelling out another £100 for an update that didn't seem to offer very much. Anyway, I purchased a couple of new Kontakt libraries from Native Instruments over the weekend which ran in Kontakt 6 just fine. Today those libraries updated and in the release notes I find that they have now removed compatability for those libraries with Kontakt 6. I've had them for three days and now I have to pay another £100 if I want to be able to use them properly. Another issue I have with Native Instruments products right now is the fact that Battery and Kontakt interfaces do not scale which makes them very difficult to use on a 4k screen. I've fixed this problem however, by switching to Togu Audio Line's Drum and Sampler, both of which have scalable interfaces and use less CPU and RAM than Battery and Kontakt.

No resizeable GUI? Are you joking or are you technically unable to implement this feature?

I'm really confused. Why is it that you have a mixer button and i don't. Also, you have a menu button in the lower left corner that i don't have. I'm stumped.

So far disappointed. The synth is awful.

Hi, I have a problem. Can you add an Ok/Cancel option in Native Access when I enter a new serial number? Sometimes I do not want to register a number, because I make a mistake, etc. and I see that it is not an instrument that I wanted to have on my account, but it is immediately already in my account and I can not delete it. Can you add this option in Native Access? Simply confirm the registration of the Yes or No new serial number.
Support wrote to me recently that this is already the case in the latest version of NA v3.5, and yet there is no such possibility. This is very important for us. Best regards.

Why do the instruments need huge backgrounds with so much empty space? Is there any way to minimize them?

Why does the previews work for "Noire" but not for "The Maverick" or "Cuba" or "India" or other libraries I tested ? Only Noire works uff.

What is different about the same old instruments in Kontakt 7 that were in earlier versions? What is new in the new factory content samples? Are the older effects redone or are they about the same? I see there are new effects.

Does the 55 GB of sound library that ship with it include sax and brass? I do big-band cues and I’ve heard the sounds are fantastic but I can’t get a clear answer on if they are included with the purchase of the program. Thank you

What is the difference between kontakt 7 and komplete 14? I already have most of the native instruments plugin and dont want any plugins. All i want is the sound libraries and the player. What should i go for?

At one time Kontakt was a ground breaking sampler. IMHO its now outdated and become a tool to sell high priced sample libraries of little use to the average user who originally invested in it. Tell me, where are the overviews of any new sampling capabilties to the clunky and outdated sampler GUI/ capabilities. As stated, Kontakt is now just sample library store front. If I just want samples there's loopcloud et al.... Pass!!!

So still no MPE support for NI stuff? This is the main reason I moved away from using most NI VSTs when I first got my Linnstrument (one of my all-time favorite pieces of gear). I'm stuck with using Kontakt because of the 3rd party sample library ecosystem that's grown up around it. There's the multitimbral workaround, but it's so CLUNKY!

Hi Team, just a quick question, I noticed that the vst is called "Kontakt 7.vst", so what if Kontakt 8 or 9 comes out (maybe called 8.vst or 9.vst... ), do I need to keep kontakt 7 ? because my projects are based on "Kontakt 7.vst"

I have this installed but it says "no libraries" how do you get libraries in it? If I go to options there's a button that says "Launch Native Access" which it does, then it shows all my applications and instruments. Then I see Kontakt 7 in the list and its installed. Now what????

I havent used Kontakt since 5 and tried this one out. What a mess! The old look was 1000% more preferable compared to this. I get a grey folder as the instrument? Pass on this.

I have a big question: can one of the leading minds of the company explain to me why you put numbers in the name of the program again?.. why Kontakt 7 and not Kontakt?... why if I want to edit my recent projects I can't should I do it because of the name change?
Honestly I would like a logical explanation, unless you have the urge to inconvenience your users...

Native Access offered me the installation of Kontakt 7 player (K7) which I validated for try K7

Now i got a BIG probleme : Unable to open the full version of Kontakt 6 (K6) in Komplete Kontrol (KK), in the browser instruments on the left, only the thumbnail of K7 appears.
If I want to manually open the K6 instrument by clicking "+" / "VST3" / "Native Instruments" / "Kontakt" --> K6 opens but without the possibility of accessing the instruments
This applies to standalone version and vst instance in Studio One 6.

Result I find myself, otherwise it's not funny, only to be able to work with version 7 demo (limited to 15 minutes and with its library reduced to demo format. (No access to other NI and third-party plugins)..

I send a message to NI assitance but no answer ... 😕

Have they made the UI bigger on the instruments. I dont understand why for 2 decades you have made the user use these daft miniscule windows

Can't believe they didn't add a resizable UI in rack view. This should be priority number one.
At the very least add support for higher resolution screens. Some 3rd party libraries UI's are almost unreadable.

can you resize the window? I have a 4k laptop screen and Kontakt 6 comes up super small on my laptop. Do they have the option to expand the size of the plug-in to make it bigger on the screen now?

Should I uninstall the first library or keep it with Factory Library 2?

Someone please help me out. I've got kontakt 7 together with the getgood metal drums and I'm trying to route them for my ableton because otherwise they won't record. But I can't find the outputs anywhere idk what to do
