I actually started making games at 10 without a game engine, and my first game ever was made in Python using the Turtle library (Yeah... I am sorry for my past self.) Now, as a 13 year old, I am using c++ with SDL2, and the only game engine I tried out was Godot (And I hated it for being too easy). So, the point is, you don't need school OR fancy game engines to make games.
ОтветитьHehe gay-maker '-'
ОтветитьHere's a question I just don't know what engine to go to next I'm currently on scratch but I don't know any engines that are a little more advanced than it?
Ответитьi am downloading wizbirds!
ОтветитьHey sorry for being 2 years late😅 but I don’t have a laptop or anything I have my phone and my iPad but I want to start making something like that so do you have any tip or any thoughts on where to start
ОтветитьHow should I start learning and actually understanding code? for the past couple weeks ive took it slow and downloaded unity and followed a couple of Pandemonium's videos about making a 2D Platformer for beginners. I made it to the 3rd video and noticed I am not understanding any code he is saying, even thought the series is for complete biggers.
I am now feeling discouraged and lost. What should I do?
Started with gamemaker as back in 2002 and now getting back into simple games im using pygame lol.
ОтветитьA video that would be immensely helpful is a breakdown of terms and resources used in a game engine. What is a library, what are objects, what is a boolean, etc. I know so many small aspects of programming now due to tutorials, but I couldn't make a game object appear on scren on my own if I wanted to.
ОтветитьDo you like all comments
Ответитьwhich programmimg language you used?
ОтветитьMake a 3D game
ОтветитьThe real red pill is when you realize that gamedev is just as hard/easy as it has always been, because the documentation and experimentation is the best way to learn, understand and progress. Tutorials are a noob-trap.
ОтветитьWhen did you start scratch

ОтветитьI wanna learn game development but i dont have a computer 😭
Ответитьlooking at this and hearing your journey has inspired me, especially the "learn the language before you jump in the game engine", cause i'm learning python right now to understand it's structure and how it is used, plus to help me be a decent solo dev. awesome video!!!
ОтветитьMy journey begins..from modder to maker.
