Every month we bring you at least one Affordable Liveaboard Yacht Tour. Today we are on board of rare Italian Build Beauty - 2001 VZ 56 FLY Motor Yacht. She has a LOT of volume for her size (actually as we chatted with the lovely owners she has an LOA of 65', but her paperwork says 56' 🙈🤷♀️... so it will be advantageous in many ways). Some of my personal fav features include a spacious cockpit, huge flybridge, a great home office option, dual helm, fab Owner's cabin and it even had amazing crew quarters! And Rico loved the engine room as well. This Motoryacht would make a perfect Liveaboard or a Condo on the water for the lucky new owners! So, if CanNOT afford to buy a house in MIAMI? Except you still have to find a slip for it. Expect at least $40/foot for a 56' boat. So on top of a boat loan payment, add more than $2500/mo for a place to put it and another couple of hundred a month for insurance. Certainly buying a sub-$500K yacht is cheaper than a $multi-million, but it's still in the range of "if you have to ask, you probably can't afford it."

Please. Please stop calling it a “barbecue”. It’s not a barbecue. Barbecue refers to a particular type of cuisine not a type of cooking device. It’s a “grill”. Not a “barbecue” and whenever you say that millions of people across the American south (and everywhere else) just CRINGE. Otherwise…great tour.

The maintenance to keep one of thoes afloat and running properly, will cost a never ending fortune. Youll be able to afford a 1.5 million in the life time of living aboard one of those.

I could see an older couple who's kids are all grown up, like mine, living on a boat like this rather than buying a condo or townhome. I would live on a boat but I would have to relocate to the West Coast, Vancouver, Victoria, somewhere like that, not many places to go boating in Winnipeg...up and down the Red and Assiniboine Rivers is about as wet as it gets here, they freeze over in the winter and flood in the summer, not a good investment here. A converted river barge would be great here, like the ones in Paris, Duncan McLeod had a beautiful one on Highlander: The Series.

How much is the marina fees? Does the marina allow live-aboard? Is there a consecutive day limit. Is there a total day limit? How about a black water pump out?
