i would like to express my eternal burning hatred for the dualshock 4 controller

i, ABHOR, the dualshock 4 controller with all of my soul. i have had nothing but enraging experiences with it and i wish the worst upon its designers. comfortability wise, its not bad, could be better, could be worse. durability wise? horrible, i HATE the durability. EVERY SINGLE DUALSHOCK 4 I HAD got severe stick drift after a WEEK, ONE SINGULAR WEEK, of moderate use. it went from no drift, to tolerable, to unbearable. every. single. controller. official and unofficial. i had this green camo ds4 (official), it got severe stick drift not long after i got it and it pissed me off so much i ripped one of the grip parts off. second controller i had (blue camo) was unofficial and got severe stick drift a week after (this is years later btw) moderate use on an emulator. the final straw was on the final fight in god of war 1 where it kept making me roll off the edge (the right stick had the drift which is also dodge) and kept killing me over and over until i got pissed enough where i repeatedly stabbed the joystick over and over then i literally ripped the controller in half. third controller (gold, official) had a small bit of drift (pretty unnoticeable) which rapidly became unusable after a week or so of light-moderate use and i ended up just destroying the internals but kept the shell cuz it was my favorite looking controller.

fourth controller was a purple unofficial controller which had slight drift but became unbearable after TWO (2) DAYS OF LIGHT USE. thankfully this one had a happy ending as it was my sister’s controller and if i broke it then id be in deep shit so it got off lucky. but just know i was so ready to throw it into a woodchipper.


now you know why i have a burning hatred the power of a thousand suns for the dualshock 4. i will NEVER use another dualshock 4 EVER again. thank you for reading my rant about this absolute fuckass controller.

hardest command you may deal with anything with dpad in overall gaming is Tekken's wavedash, that has to be inputted continuously as fast as possible. It is easier in hitbox or lever-based controller. Best controller should allow it that fast just like lever or hitbox, but i see none of them yet except razor raion gamepad.

I could overlook the Nintendo conversation. But the Dreamcast controller was one of the best ones ever made. It's only flaw was that the cord connected at the bottom of the controller and required them to add a channel for the cord to be hooked into the back of it to redirect the cord.
