Trench in a Crawl Space with No Drainage System

I’m in a crawl space with standing water issues. I want to show you what is going on. You can see there is water in the crawl space and it’s just draining. What’s happening is that this water is sneaking in from under the footer at the front of the house over there, and then it just comes and sits in the crawlspace. There is no place for the water to go. The home owner actually put a bit of a trench right here so it doesn’t get into the rest of the crawl space, but still that water is kind of sitting here. He’s trying to sell the home and knows he cannot have this when the inspection comes up. So what we’ll do is come in and put an entire drainage system around the perimeter. We’ll gravity feed it to the lowest point over there and install a sump pump in a basin.
