Too many benchmarks! How does it feel? I can put windows 11 on the Intel one and only virtual machines on the M1. That might be interesting for some. Yes, we get it, it's fast with brainless benchmarks, but how is MacOS different on these?

It is so funny to compare i5 1.4Ghz and M1 processors, why?

All things are relative ….. most buy what they can afford and as we all know any Apple product will be one of the most expensive in its segment but my question is at what price would you consider the intel Mac is a better deal?
Given there are three yr old brand new Intel Macs available with big discounts when do their failings compared to a M1 Mac ( Pro ) become less of an issue . .
I’ve seen a brand new unboxed 2019 Intel i7 with 16GB of Ram and 500 SSD ( approximately) on sale with a two yr guarantee for £1650.00 ($1844) . I asked for a further reduction and was told if it is still not sold in 10 days they will take an extra £150 ( $171 ) !
My question is is this a deal to good to ignore or would you still go with a M1 Pro ( I want a 14” screen ) for £1729 ( $1974.00 ) which is approximately a £250.00 or $285.00 saving on a 2021 version of a 14” Mac Pro with the same GB & SSD and 2 yr warranty..
Of course the real question is this laptop overkill for a 16yr old who isn’t doing creative/ video editing but for college & University ( in two yrs time ) !! ( he lives with the ex so I tend to go OTT , every father would if they could so don’t berate me 🤪

Why didn’t you test it against the core i9 Macpro?

The only actual gaming you can do on the M1 is steam so I think m1 automatically loses in that comparison.

Weird results in the Logic Pro Benchmark. I could play 50 tracks on my mid 2019 MacBook Pro with an intel core i5-8279u @ 2.40ghz.

Great video!

Excellent review, thanks! I have the 2020 i5 MacBook Pro and it's just as fast as my 2014 MacBook Air....and the battery drains extremely fast. Going to buy the M1 now.
