100 light years away .... what's the point?

Solar system is called HD 110067

“With six major planets, its architecture is intriguing,” Knicole Colon, a Nasa astrophysicist and exoplanet expert. “These planets are likely not going to support life, as they are all likely too warm and too large. But still the whole sub-Neptune angle is the intriguing part, [because] we don't yet know why our solar system does not have one.”

The new planets are called sub Neptune because they’re bigger than the close-in, rocky worlds of our solar system, such as Earth and Venus, but not as big as the ice giants Neptune and Uranus. They range from two to three times the diameter of Earth. The innermost planet orbits the star in just nine days, while the outermost makes that journey in 54 days.

There could be other planets in the system that remain undetected. So I guess we'll have to wait and see if there's something exciting hiding away in there.

The BBC really is piss poor these days.

awesome. next thing to do: build a space ship capable of travelling at the speed of light and crews who will spend their entire lifetime on board while procreating.

Since BBC didn't care enough to mention it, the star is named HD 10067.

The system has 6 planets but none are in the Goldilocks zone.

our own planet and solar system tells you how to form a planet and are the blueprints on how to give a planet life. constructive intellectuals see this clear while destructive people are currently killing this planet.

Three times older and in perfect balance ...
... a 'Dyson System'? 🤔
Transit Method sees only a plane, so extremely lucky to see six planet system on an edge.

What is the star's name? Which constellation is it located at? Is it visible to the naked eye?

Not a lot of info for amateur enthusiasts out there.

If you’re a person who thinks there is no life out there you really are deluded. We will ever meet other life in human existence that could though probably be a big no due to time. By the time aliens would travel the 1000000 years to get to us, we deffo would of blown ourselves up by then lol

No-one can know any of this. You are just making it up and you know nothing about space, science or anything else. None of this is known. So far we have not actually seen extrasolar planets, only a judgment made using indirect research, like a dimming star. This is why journalism like this is trash.
