the BLF LT1 and the batterie case are total wins!
would be good if the box glowed in the dark or a reflective colour making it easy to find in a blackout.
i find glow sticks to be pretty useless.
I have a keter box for my blackout box I haven't completed it yet as the flashlight addiction gets in the way lol i have the d cell streamlight siege lantern great bit of kit I also have been buying mulitfuel flashlights thay can revert to disposables
ОтветитьHave 80k mah worth of power banks. 240wh,180wh plus 88wh power stations with multiple usb light bulbs and two folding solar panels. I did black out simulations and got over 2 weeks with no solar or recharging. In the real world I would be recharging off my car
ОтветитьStandardize your stuff flashlights headlights lanterns radios Etc on one or two common and cheap alkaline battery size. For me it's AAA & AA
ОтветитьNot very good advice
ОтветитьCool vid!
ОтветитьHey, New Sub here.....great video....I'm all about Urban Survival....I'm not a wilderness survival guy....Im mainly going from the city for work to the suburbs most of the time, so my survival gear is mainly centered around that..... Keep the videos coming...
ОтветитьDid you know that you sound like Bob McKinsey from the great white north ? 😅
ОтветитьGreat video I’m sitting in my truck charging my phone, while watching after the tornado 🤦♂️
ОтветитьIn a real life survival situation i think USB powered devices have the downside of being hard to charge if you lack the according adapters. Try hooking up a car battery to a USB C. You will either need a premade converter/adapter or disassemble your device untill you can bridge the USB dock with wires on the circuitboard. Also i would always include a generator lamp that you can crank to charge.
ОтветитьThank you for the vid and for the links.
ОтветитьOlight wants you to register before looking on their site. They can piss off.
ОтветитьOlight has shifted in recent years to making flashlights that use rechargeable batteries. Not exactly useful in SHTF situations...
ОтветитьNice video. Gives me some ideas to think about. Thanks for sharing it.
JT
Great video and ideas. Your ammo can, I didn't see the faraday seal. The way is made would not protect it from EMP
ОтветитьYeah, unless the box is grounded it won't protect electronics from EMP.
ОтветитьThis guy geeked out on the lighting! Sweet ass kit tho
ОтветитьWhy don’t you mention how the Olight flashlights are charged …I watch a video of you for a first and last time as the info that you provide is misleading and incomplete …this video is purely paid promotion and misleading!!!!!!!!!!!!
ОтветитьSorry, but that was quite a waste of time, the majority of the items were lights/torches. One of which would suffice.
ОтветитьThanks for this. Mine is very similar. I also look upon the car jumpstarters (I've two, one in the trunk of each car) as 'to augment' my blackout bag.
I also have three UPS/Anti-surge systems, throughout the house, to keep the routers, wi-fi, landline & various computers running if the mains dies.
Blackout kits casually explained?
ОтветитьWhat about storing Li-Ion batteries like 18650s?
I want to be prepared for a power outage and want to store my batteries fully charged, but many people say that storing Li-ion batteries fully charged will lead to performance degradation.
I still store them fully charged as I can't charge them during a power outage...
Lookslike a lo of bucks for something that might be needed. My hot water heater is covered with the blue flashlights harbor freight gives away once in a while. Those are give-aways for the neighbors. I have numerous Ryobi tools and batteries. The batteries are charged by two 100 watt solar panels. There are several different lights that use these batteries I use daily.
My EDC light will get me to these other lights. I don’t know about everyone else but I can’t afford to get a bunch of lights to sit and not be used.
Are you a professional influencer for these products?
Great video! The BLF LT1 looks very interesting to me... I lately got the Olight Olantern classic pro 2, which has a super nice, ambient light to light out a room. It's rechargeable and runs for quite some time... And it has this vintage lantern look, that I really love.
Ответитьhi I think you make a mistake, I know the BLF-LT1 can’t run 4320 hours, but 666 hours at low set. it's impossible even close to 11,623 Hours total.
ОтветитьThis video is just a big advert.
ОтветитьI'm just came here to find a way to help my family in Cuba. They are having blackout of 6 hours every single day
ОтветитьThese are going to in my future pack
RovyVon Aurora A8x, Fenix TK20R V.2, Olight Freyr, LumiTop E21C, Fenix E20

House generator is all you need
ОтветитьHi Friend.
Can you update some of the link? Would love to buy a few of these items.
Very well made video.
Ответитьplease always include prices ,which we know are subject to change,,, must have somehow missed it. do a kit and price it, otherwise is incomplete info,, Appreciate the good overall presentation and research,,, but disappointing that ,,no prices shown, although links below are appreciated!
ОтветитьExcellent presentation, but not inexpensive.
Ответить3 months light? nice dream dude...
ОтветитьPeople worry too much about EMP and solar flare, most small electronics would be just fine in case these happens. I have seen a test of small electronics vs EMP without any protection, electronics with all metal construct like flashlights laughed at the EMP, not even affected at all. Radios, walkie talkie and another electronics works just fine after the EMP. Even when they are turning on while the EMP happen, some of them turn off and you just need to turn them on again after the EMP, again, they works just fine.
Bigger electronics and the power grid is roasted in case of big EMP or solar flare btw, that's our main worries.
Your kit box magically refills itself every day for a year-and-a-half??
Maybe YOU could get that amount of illumination out of all those lamps and battery cells, but have you tested it with an average suburban (entitled to 100% power-on-everything) moron? The kind of person that think an eye-phone will solve any emergency?
I would really suggest you look into a human-powered dynamo generator with USB in addition to the solar panel.
THKS
ОтветитьThanks for the information giving us all the options for lights!!!👍🏽
ОтветитьMy short term light light kit is mostly dollar store lights & flashlights, so I can give them to neighbors in the building in a pinch. I do love kits like this though. Am going to make one like one of your other kits though. Great vids dude!
ОтветитьWe Want to see budget kits 🙏🙏
ОтветитьThis was a really smart video along with you bug out food video!!!
ОтветитьOutstanding video.
Ответитьvery nice kit, have you considered emp bags with -50db or more attenuation in case of a solar cme or emp?
ОтветитьThat baton 3 looks great... I usually don't like olight compared to nitecore and fenix.. I like how it tail stands and has usb type c in a independent housing charger... hmm
ОтветитьYou should keep a piece of cloth or cotton between the metal of the can and the equipment or in case of emp it wont function at all and the can will transfer the electronic waves to your gear
Ответитьwhy didnt you include the SP35?
ОтветитьVery nice blackout setup. I have a few of the luci solar lanterns that can charge themselves. I keep 6 20000 mah power banks charged to make my obulbs/olantern and warrior mini 1 and 2 going for days if not weeks. I do keep 2 of the streamlight aa siege lantern as they use AA and are waterproof also. Also 2 portable solar panels just in case 👍
