I grew up always believing that Nazi Germany was the ultimate embodiment of evil in this world and knowing what Russia's major role in destroying that evil was. I respected Russia, but now after they invaded Ukraine and their government became an Organised Crime Group, I see Russia for what it really is now; the ultimate force of evil in the modern world order.
At least it's difficult now not to see Russia as such, we suspected it when was in the guise of the Soviet Union participating in nuclear brinkmanship and occupying much of Europe, or now with Russia being a rogue state that has abandoned democracy, whose foreign minister Lavrov resembles the Nazi Ribbentrop, and invading the eastern boundary of Europe for illogical and illegitimate reasons that truly no one really believes. Russian leaders, diplomats, people all seem to have ego issues and demand the status of a superpower which they really don't deserve. All Russia is is a big Serbia. More people would respect Russia if it stopped sliding into a dictatorship, stopped attacking its neighbours with utterly ridiculous dishonest reasoning, and stopped demanding all other nations give it superpower status, when at best it's a second or third rate military power whose best days are long gone. The idea that Russia could rival NATO in any military conrlict is truly laughable. After nearly two years, hundreds of thousands dead, billions spent, the Russians haven't even been able to conquer then Donbas region of Ukraine against opponents who were basically agrarian peasants. The invasion has galvanised Ukraine into a proper nation state, the Ukrainian people have taken the opportunity to assert their unique national identity, and they have fought the "mighty" Russia to at least a stalemate. That is the outcome of Russia v Ukraine. Now what would the outcome be of a conventional war between Russia against NATO? (United States, United Kingdom, France, Ger,many, Canada, Italy, Netherlands, Sweden, Finland, Turkey etc). The outcome would be No Contest.

What a waste. Russia seems to come up short on most huge military projects. It does not mean the ship is not a threat but its life in a real shooting war would be short.
