I clicked because I thought you were going to compare the Macbook Air to the Macbook Pro's value.

I wouldn't really say that Apple is "Forcing" you to this much memory that you stress a lot in this video. This is unified memory and the larger and smaller gpu core counts is what would be determining the amount of memory you get. GPU cores need a specific amount of memory dedicated to them in order to perform operations correctly. GPUs process data differently than a CPU where memory can be a bit more flexible. GPUs don't necessarily have this luxury and need more specific dedicated amounts of memory to compute properly.

All of these "reviewers" recommending things solely on Geekbench results, with no product actually in hand, are not going to look very good when these things are actually available and tested with real benchmarks. Geekbench is a terrible benchmark for higher core count chips.

Try with something heavier houdini, and epyc 9374f is a server cpu of course it will be slower but that cpu have 128 lanes pcie 5.0 and support 12 channel ram with a max of 6.14tb

Correct me if im wrong, but usually, the m4 max cores are clocked higher than the m4 pro. So, despite the same core count it should perform slightly better

So… if you are emulating windows for gaming the m4max is very worth the cost… but if you aren’t doing something that intense, m4pro is plenty even for gaming
