Ответитьwish there WAS a Village Green Preservation Society...one with conviction and TEETH. it will be a crime and a loss of cosmic proportion when the British Isles and its unique and wonderful people and culture disappear from their native lands. and if anyone makes even the tiniest protest thereof they are shouted down vehemently. why? this isn't an organic occurrence. this is deliberate. why? maybe I don't even wanna know the answer(s). hateful, criminal, and obscene. long live the Kinks...and the English, Scottish, Welsh, Irish and all kindred peoples.
ОтветитьI can't believe what's holding up that drummer and drum set, doesn't look very sturdy to me.
ОтветитьOn Village Green I feel Ray nailed the correct tempo and brass as opposed to the album. God Save the Village Green!
ОтветитьI loved this period. Preservation Act 1 is a beautiful yet misunderstood album
ОтветитьBuena music

ОтветитьI was lucky to see the Kinks comeback show at the Hollywood Palladium back in the day
ОтветитьGod save Donald Trump
ОтветитьFact: there will never be another Ray Davies 💀....or Dave Davies 👽

This single show gave forth the best versions of DFOF, Lola, Waterloo sunset, and VGPS I’ve heard. Can’t stop coming back for the whole show, stellar band.
ОтветитьPretty damn great eh?
ОтветитьRIP Kinks keyboardist John Gosling. Another great one gone.
ОтветитьRIP John Gosling.
ОтветитьI'm soooooo glad I stumbled onto this video! The Kinks are a phenomenal, underrated band and are at their best here.
ОтветитьThat was awesome finding this Kinks Concert of 1973, which was a great year for me as I was 16, a hippie n Glam rocker n out and about living in the crazy times that made life so wonderful back then!!!! Hearing these tunes was sweet!!! Grand stroll down memory lane. Thank you for posting!!!!
ОтветитьThe Kinks brought Vaudeville to the Rock era!!
Ответитьinteresting to see this incarnation of the Kinks, love the arrangements. appreciate the video, favorite UK band of all time.
Ответить❤lm follower of Kinks from 1974, yes lm still alive and well, found this record on 16.7.2023, thanx for posting, greetings to Dave and others!!!🎉
ОтветитьWhat is the gig from usa in 70s was recorded was wild only thing I remember was a runway right out into crowd lots of up n coming guitarists saw it
ОтветитьIt took most people 50 year to appreciate
the genius of Ray Davies. I into kinks kronkle when it was release. Actual
The first album I ever purchased was
So tired of waiting.
Wie schön ist mehrstimmige Gesang.
ОтветитьIt was much better back then. No computers, mobil phones..Life was more easier..And we was young..
ОтветитьWas able to see them in the late 70s in Seattle. Damn good band!
ОтветитьBrilliant. Young enough to be before my time but old enough to know Britain rocked out some kick arse bands back in the day. Including the kinks. Waterloo sunset awesome. ❤
ОтветитьFABULOUS!!!!!
Ответить30 minutes well spent
ОтветитьHappy birthday Ray!!!
ОтветитьFinding this video left me feeling as if I had serendipitously run into an old long lost friend. Thanks.
ОтветитьMan!!!! Absolutely fantastic
ОтветитьThanks ....they are really one of the greatest rock bands and they have a wonderful sense of humour
ОтветитьI'm an Anglophile of the highest order. My fav bands have always been Led Zeppelin, Rolling Stones, The Beatles, The Who, Sabbath, etc, etc. But in my unqualified opinion The Kinks have always been the very most British of the lot. As so many folks have stated here better than I can, The Kinks have been sorely underrated for all their existence, but those of us who know music.... WE KNOW-don't we? Oh, and God Save The King!
ОтветитьI wish I could hear and see EVERY Kinks song presented like this. The quality is perfection. The boys were on fire here.
ОтветитьThey are more british than the britans. I love them
Ответить😍
Ответить🕊️🧖♀️🌞
ОтветитьI saw them around this time in NYC they had a rabid fanbase.who would throw paper plates by the dozen.lots of onstage drinking of beer they were fantastic.

ОтветитьThey wrote and performed the greatest pop/rock song of all time> WATERLOO SUNSET
ОтветитьSo English, so damn good. Long Live The Kinks
ОтветитьThis must’ve been before the preservation act shows (and Ray’s first wife leaving him). Ray looks in pretty bad shape.
ОтветитьCan’t imagine pop music without them. God Bless the Kinks. Waterloo here is soo lovely.
ОтветитьHow should we be spelling prophets.
K-I-N-K-S
Almost as good as Taylor Swift?
I am being sarcastic.
Colorado
wow, that was awesome! that band was on fire! thank you.
ОтветитьSaw them in JFK Stadium in Philly 1982, Joan Jett, Loverboy, Huey Lewis & The News and Foreigner. Theses wankers stole the show. Very long set of classic plus the dynamite they were recording in the 80's.
ОтветитьEn aquel entonces tenía 21 años , ahora llegué a los 71 y los recuerdos se amontonan , los rasgueos de guitarra , la rotundidad de la batería y los coros , música de los 60 y 70 siempre quedará
