Still making him young, and instead of making a chronological story like iron man, hulk, Thor, all of the rest, they keep restarting Spider-Man in different parts of his story, where the only real Spider-Man you will find is in the games

Honestly? I fucking hate Spider-Man now. Could be so good, but it all just ends up being shit. I loved the character as a kid, but the writers are just such pretentious twats. Can’t let him grow, can’t let him win, so that’s cool with me. I just won’t tune-in anymore. Hope everyone loves the idea of him getting alt-universe cucked in the new stories.

That whole civil war era was while I was graduating Highschool and even though I was raised on comics it was the first time I was buying and reading every issue. Captain America & Peter were quickly becoming my favorite characters out of no where then Cap gets killed (which made sense to me) and Peter made the deal with the devil…I don’t think I’ve bought a single comic since lmao. Real character assassination for Peter in my eyes. Watching this to finally see if anything was ever salvaged from that.

I personally think, if a hero doesn't die young that story wasn't written right.

The ending is absolutely terrible. Peter Parker dies and Otto gets to live in his body and live the life peter is supposed to have. It's so fucked up ngl.

Straczynski's run is so underrated, esp due to editorial mandates messing with everything. When it was good, I think it was my favorite era of the character.

I would have loved to see what he would have done with Spidey if allowed to write the story exactly as he wanted.

So all the iron boy jr controversy WAS in the comics. Something a lot of die hard Spider-Man comic book fans didn’t like. He looked up to the FF and the avengers and wanted their respect and even became iron man’s right hand man
