Guitar Riffs for Beginners: E5 A5 power chord! #shorts

Are you a guitar beginner looking for an easy riff to impress your friends with? Well look no further than this gnarly E5 A5 power chord riff! It's just two strums of each power chord, then mute the strings, then play a 'passing note' on the low E string at the 3rd fret, then repeat. Pure rock!

I'm returning to playing guitar after a 20+ year absence, so I'm no virtuoso. (My fingers & brain don't work like they did in my teens / twenties!) I am in essence not very far from an absolute beginner.

Join me on my journey into the world of guitars. This will be a magic, mysterious, thrilling, sometimes infuriating, journey into learning, playing and recording guitar, and all things guitar related.

Think of me as your learning buddy, your 'pathfinder', a nostalgic reminder of your own guitar learning story, or primarily an entertaining novice on a journey of discovery. I won't take this too seriously. It's a hobby, not life and death. Let's have a laugh together.

At the end of 2020 I was challenged to record a cover version of "Seven Nation Army" by the White Stripes on my guitar. The challenger said that if I recorded it then they would record themselves singing over it. This kick-started my 2022 drive to not only re-learn the guitar, but improve on my 'skills' from my 20's, finally conquer the instrument, and start the "Guitars Are Hard" YouTube channel to share my experiences and knowledge with others.
