Nice video Jon. And also nice to see that you gave credit for the idea and even some links. A real gentlemen.
ОтветитьWhat level of precision and fine measurements. Like a perfect jigsaw puzzle fitting together. Beautiful. Thank you, Jon!
ОтветитьThanks Jon
Just what I wanted, I will definitely give this method a try
Cheers from NZL
It would have been more useful to show all your failures along the way that "took practice", so that we know what to look out for. Now all we learned is that you eventually got it down and made at least one decent joint. Just a tip: no one can learn by just seeing you present the final result; we need to see the hangups as you're doing it.
ОтветитьI mean handmade dovetails are definitely beautiful especially double inlays but come on the speed and accuracy is better like this
Ответитьnice video.
ОтветитьWhy not build half this jig, then flip it to cut the opposite angle?
ОтветитьJig so well done, it could be sold on Amazon or something XD Good work Jon, as always.
ОтветитьHonestly I think it would just be easier to do them by hand. The learning curve may seem daunting but once you get your first few done you will feel good about it. By one hundred you will be an expert.
Ответить👍😎🙏😃
ОтветитьGreat jig and great instructions. Thanks for this, looking forward to giving this a go
ОтветитьThanks Jon, this looks like a great way to cut dovetails.
ОтветитьBeautiful job. Hard work pays off again!!
ОтветитьI’ll definitely be doing this! You just got yourself a new subscriber!
ОтветитьThank you
Ответитьlove it! I just got a new stop saw for Christmas.. One of the things I build requires dovetails...
ОтветитьYup I’m going to do them like this next time for sure! Really liked both yours and Stumpy Nubs approach
ОтветитьYou are using machines....do it by hand and you will deserve admiration. I have done hundreds of Dovetails with my machines, it isn't that hard. Hand cut Dovetails takes an entirely different set of skills.
ОтветитьGreat video.
Ответитьeasier and quicker to cut by hand once you develop the skills .
won't take long . check out rob cosman
I remember Norm Abram saying, “I never met a power tool I didn’t like!” Although using Rob Cosman’s technique for hand cutting dove tails is very satisfying, this power tool technique of yours is pretty damn slick! Once the jig is built, you’re ready to rock and roll. Nicely done and thanks for a terrific idea.
ОтветитьWhy dont you just tilt a blade and avoid the bansaw completely?
ОтветитьHappy Christmas and Happy New Year Jon Peters and yours family.
ОтветитьLooks great!
ОтветитьGreat work and Instructions
ОтветитьYour dovetails turned out great......thanks for sharing your technique with us Jon. Merry Christmas to you and your family!!!
ОтветитьWell, that’s another way to cut dovetails, but there are easier ways...
ОтветитьThanks, Jon. Love this! Will definitely be trying this jig?
ОтветитьLiking the Lefty in the background 🤙
ОтветитьHave you tried using a dado setup to speed up the process?
ОтветитьI need another workshop just to stack all the made jigs 😂😂😂😂👍👍
ОтветитьGreat work on the dovetails Jon! thanks for sharing the video with us :) and Merry Christmas to you and the family!🎄💖👍😎JP
ОтветитьAbsolutely brilliant jig. Not a fan of dovetails mainly because I’d rather not chisel and spend time on cleaning edges. This will allow me to incorporate dovetails once I practice on a few spares. Great video and keep up the great work!
ОтветитьVery Nice Video, Merry Christmas and have a Happy New Year as well!!
ОтветитьI like that Jon. I built the dual function ramp/jig and also found the results variable. I like your method and will give it a try.
ОтветитьReally great results 👍
ОтветитьJon, why do it this way instead of buying a jig? (And Merry Christmas! Thanks for the videos.)
ОтветитьSo cool. Those joints are beautiful!
ОтветитьVery strong video.
Thanks for posting.
OK,OK,OK Jon, wit da Holidays coming I'll let you slide & chock this up as a furniture build. LOL!! Hoping all is well Bud, Dirty Jersey out!!
ОтветитьWell done & great little Jig Jon! Happy Holidays to you and your family! 👍👍🎄🎄🎄🎄👍👍
ОтветитьThis is great!
ОтветитьGreat video. Merry Christmas to you and yours.
Ответитьgreat video thanks for sharing
ОтветитьGreat information 👍
ОтветитьGreat info Jon, thanks for sharing...🤘🤘🤘
ОтветитьThanks or the video Jon. Not everyone can cut dovetails like a samurai.
ОтветитьFirst I need to make a new crosscut sled because mine is truly tragic lol.
