Non Non Biyori, Tsurune and Laid Back Camping are my favourites.
ОтветитьWhat is the last song at the end of the video?
And, Anohana😭😭😭
Part of myself really wants to experience Sound! Euphonium...but I'm hesitant due to the implied lesbianism.
Ответитьyou cant talk with that fucking analytical college professor ass voice and say shit like "sexy jutsu ninjas", like get the fuck outa here, ya'll are all outa ya gaddamn minds
ОтветитьI love Silver Spoon!! Just watched it a month ago and it easily became my 5th fav anime out of ~350 animes I've watched. Yuugo Hachiken and Aki Mikage's relationship is just great, I love how they compliment each other's weak spots. While other animes have grand and big premises, this anime tackles mundane and simple things as its topic. It didn't rely on breath-taking animations or cutesy anime characters but rather on its well-paced storyline, relevant plot, and well written characters (which I love). I played the anime as a background sound whenever I'm doing for like 2-3 weeks after I watched it just because I so much loved it, the last time I fell in love with anime this much was a few years ago when I watched Violet Evergarden back in 2018/2019.
ОтветитьOnly Yesterday >>>>
ОтветитьMy second favorite Anime genre. 🤔👍
ОтветитьHeartwarming experience=Shows your lie in April
ОтветитьI watched anime in high school but my situation was different i was cool with everyone the nerds, emo kids, Athletes, geeks. I played football and ran track and had weightlifting so i wasn't the average weeb lmao. I talked about anime sometimes but i wasn't one of the kids running down the halls like naruto or tryna shoot kai blasts. It's just ironic and weird to see that now if you watch anime you're cool/fit in
Ответитьyou voice is such a relaxing tenor and tone that goes along with the comfy tones of the material please...never stop
Ответитьthank you so much for making this video. you truly have put everything i feel about slice of life into the best words possible. for years, i felt suppressed and low and i always tried to find my escapism through anime, but i could never quite find the right ones till i finally landed on this video. i feel like as a girl, i should be better at expressing my feelings and thoughts, but it's as if that part of me was not nurtured enough when i was young. and when i heard how delicately and sensitively you made your points about slice of life even though you are a guy, it was really interesting to see how not all males are emotionally detached, and some are very tuned in with their thoughts and ideas and are very expressive. thank you for giving me a chance to unwind and just shed a tear while i tackle my busy life through my last year of high school.
ОтветитьWhen I talk about anime with people, they often bring up the heavy action centered shows and bash slice of life. I think they miss the value in it, the value in feeling. Yes and action packed show can provoke emotions and feelings, but not in the same way slice of life can. My opinion might be slightly biased due to slice of life being the type of anime I typically watch, but it's made me feel things about my life that I hadn't really felt before. It's also made me remember feelings I had forgotten. Perhaps the best example of this is Yuru camp. Yuru camp is a show about highschool girls going out and experiencing the world of camping in Japan with varying levels of experience from each of the girls. While watching it as the characters experienced certain moments in camping, it reminded me of my own. I go camping semi frequently with my family and have since I was little. It encapsulates the feeling if waking up early to get to a campsite, the occasional long journey to get to your destination, the quiet before falling asleep, the cold mornings and nights, and perhaps my favorite the cooking and the fun. Every time I watch it I feel like going camping, I want to have those experiences again. I think if I ever get the opportunity, I'll go camping in Japan and try to visit the places the girls do and eat the food they eat. Another cool thing is how far based in reality the show and manga are. The staff at the places the girls visit are almost all real people you can meet at the places they work at. It's really cool to me how much detail goes into it. I think I'll watch the seasons that are out again soon, I'm still waiting on the subbed version of the movie to come out on the streaming services I use.
Ответитьdamn I love your videos
ОтветитьYou are brilliant.
ОтветитьSlice of Life isn't my favorite anime genre, but some of my favorite anime are Slice of Life, and Iyashikei; have you seen Yokohama Kaidashi Kikyou or Aria?
ОтветитьI love K-on! it's one of my very first animes that I watched without subtitles for some time before I knew that other people also watched and loved Japanese anime! I watched the film when I was in college. I will be watching "sound! euphonium" for sure!!
ОтветитьHey Beyond Ghibli, I know this is an old meet video, but might you be able to list by name the animes you featured in the intro? If so, thanks a bunch :)
ОтветитьSo looking forward to Kumiko's third year as President of the Band. And thank you for the clips from Yuru Camp and Non Non Biyori and the others as well.
ОтветитьBest definition of Slice of Life EVER:
"Hmm... Like nothing actually happens, but that's what so great about it?" - Marin, My Dress-up Darling
The only show that is mainly a SOL that i like is nichijou ngl
ОтветитьKeep strong. Dont forget that despite the evil in this world, God is full of justice, mercy and love.
Justice said we broke His perfect law - causing the world's previous perfection to be destroyed - and therefore we deserve Hell (like a punishment in any legal system but this is eternal as His perfect law is eternal too). Don't think you fit in that category? Ever done one of these?: lying, stealing - regardless of how small the object EVER, hating others - which is murder in God's perfect law, lusting (plus God sees our entire thought life). Justice says "the soul that sins shall die" - if we break one in thought/word/deed it's as if we're guilty of all of them. Quite simply, living by the law (which is doing everything perfectly) is impossible for sinful humans
. The law shows us that 1. We will die in Hell if we fail to follow it and 2. We cannot save ourselves BUT, 3. God's perfect, immovable law points us to Christ, who followed and fulfilled the law in thought, word and deed perfectly in our place. He did what we couldn't and did it on our behalf. He was then sentenced to death on a cross, and took our personal punishment for our sin, paying our penalty (like paying our fine) completely FOR us, and has given us freedom.
If we turn from the sins we have committed and repent (pursue the opposite direction of love through Christ) He will, overtime, recreate us back into that previously perfect image through The Holy Spirit which Jesus sends to all who accept Him as their personal Lord and Savior of their life. It's not about following the law - perfectly, as it's impossible - it's about letting Christ in to guide and teach you and obeying Him through His power (not ourselves as it's impossible without depending on His power and instruction).
He is our substitute in His life, death and resurrection. He essentially rewrote history in our place so that, if you believe in Him, it will be as if you had never sinned if you accept Christ's death as our own in our place.
He is in Heaven right now preparing a place for us so that He can take His faithful, believing children home with Him when He returns. He will ressurrect us from death when He returns, giving mercy to those who accept His love, instruction and teachings in their life, and give justice to those who refuse it.
He doesn't want ANY of us to go to Hell and die for continuing in evil and rejecting His way to life, thats why He died FOR us. Hes giving EVERYONE a chance, He wants everyone to take the free gift of salvation from Hell. He wants us to be His and begin to follow His life of love and service through His power and abiding (staying) with Him. So long as we keep our hearts near to Christ through His strength, strive to follow His will of perfect love revealed in the Bible, and let Him lead in the midst of (very certain) pitfalls and struggles, we will, in time, win the ultimate victory over sin, pain and DEATH through Christ. Even if you are willing to be made willing, pray for Jesus to come in and He will do what we can't. Give us The Holy Spirit who will guide us in the right way.
NOTE: You are NEVER too sinful or messed up that God cannot turn your life around through Jesus. EVER. Regardless of what you've done or what you're going through you CAN make it through Jesus.
If you have any questions let me know x
I suggest to watch shirobako it's an amazing slice of life anime about the animation industry
Ответитьthis channel is so good.
ОтветитьIf love is regardless of gender then robots can have love too.
ОтветитьI know this video is old but would love to know what the author thinks about Hisone & Masotan if you're still around
ОтветитьHibike is yuribait. The LN was already good in all the points you make, but the relationship between Kumiko and Reina is so overplayed just for the sake of fetishism.
Ответить"The Philosophy of Slice of Life Anime", "Narrative Structure in Slice of Life Anime", and "The 4 Subsets of Slice-of-Life Anime" - 3 videos here on yt that have hardly any views but actually have good insights for someone who wants to create this genre of film. unlike this video which was basically just someone review of some shows they liked
ОтветитьI just happened upon this video which I hadn't seen, Joe, only to be amazed again! It was wonderful having you analyze the topic of Slice of Life through three of the series I personally love as well (especially Gin no Saji) ! Many kudos to you my friend...
ОтветитьMy first anime was Minami-ke, 15 years later and I'm still going strong.
Slice of life is an excellent gate drug into anime.
Ocean Waves is so underrated
ОтветитьI wanted this video to never end
ОтветитьWell pleased to see Genshiken - its goofball escapism of the best sort...
ОтветитьYou can be a National Geographic narrator
ОтветитьI love Hiromu Arakawa's works (including the one-shots I have been able to find), Fullmetal Alchemist is my favorite story told of all time so I want to share some stuff!
She went to a farming school and wanted to motivate japanese youth to give them a try - even if the premises are completely different you can see some common themes between Silver Spoon and FMA. the main one that pops to my head is the cycle of life, in Silver Spoon is reflected in Hachiken's relation between the stock he cares and at the same time eat and in FMA in Elric's mantra One is All, All is One (and how Human Transmutation is a punishable transgression because dares to interrupt that flow ). Another one is that sometimes bad things happen and the best we can do is move forward (Hachiken's past and the Elrics whole journey).
SPOILERS (Kind of? It's about characters interactions, not plot or anything)
If you stretch a little bit you can see it in their shared pasts, I won't go into too much details but Hachiken is conforted when he expresses his shame of leaving Tokyo. None calls him weak and instead he is assured he did the right thing, leaving a place that caused him harm. In FMA no major character who frequents the Elrics harms them mentioning their failed Human transmutation , they are told it's wrong, it was mistake, yes. But no part of the major cast who frequents them intends to rub salt to an open wound so to speak. And the few times it's done it's portrayed as wrong (this is stretching a little).
END SPOILERS
There might be more but these are the major ones that occur to me. I know that they might seem complete opposites to the espectrum (and they kinda are, not gonna lie) but both of them hace such beautiful and poignant messages and at the core they are an optimistic story of how to keep living amidst confusion.
So I just recently stumbled into K-on on Netflix not really knowing much about it. I had heard of Moe but never really seen on or was interested in it. What I got in K-on is just a show that really understands how nuisances humor, and thoughts of these girls and while I can’t necessarily relate to them all the time ,
I enjoy just watching these weird little cinnamon rolls be just that
(and not even in some weird sexual fantasy wish fulfillment way ... like the last thing that goes through my mind is such impure thoughts when all I want to do is protect them and just let them roll around and interact till they tire out)
it seems like a show me, a 27 year old shonen battle anime kind of guy , would think too girly and boring, but that’s not the case
First video I've watched from this channel and immediately subscribed! Thanks for the eloquent breakdown of my favourite genre! I always thought slice of life was closer to reality because it portrayed everyday life rather than dramatic stories, but this was a refreshing look at how it can be watched as escapism.
ОтветитьUsed to think slide of life was boring and something I wasn’t interested in until I tried watching one.
ОтветитьFor some reason Genshiken flew under my radar, even though slice of life is my favorite genre. I didn't think an anime about otaku can be very interesting, but I watched it not so long ago, and boy was I wrong. The characters are fantastic, and I binged both seasons and Nidaime. My only issue is that both anime adaptations of Genshiken and Genshiken Nidaime stop before the climax of their story. I'm glad I went back to the manga to fill in the missing pieces. Nidaime was a bit weird, with more fantastical elements, but it has a very satisfying conclusion, that leaves you with a feeling of hope.
ОтветитьThis video is iyashikei for me...
ОтветитьI want ✌️ watch all the anime’s shared here... it saddens me I missed them... but I knøw I’ll see them... someđåÿ 💗
Thånk you 4 thîš video… You get anime åš Đeepłÿ åš i đø 💗
My friend got obsessed with Genshiken and formed a club at our school.
College interviewer: Wow, the Society of Modern Visual Culture? What would you say was your main responsibilities as vice president?
Me: I would typically coordinate events to encourage joint discussion concerning direct impressions from visual media consumption, as well as prepare and assign presentations with an emphasis on a subjects' impact on our behavior and surroundings in order to explore connections and illustrate conclusions.
Interviewer: Interesting! What kind of events for what kind of media?
Me .... ....
This video made me have a realization. I very much like action packed, fantasy, adventure genres of anime. But honestly my favorites have always been the, what I now know as, Slice of life anime.
All Studio Ghibli movies, coming of age, sad/emotional stuff, all touch me in some way. I always enjoy the moments in any anime when things just slow down for a bit.
I could never really put my finger on what that was before how, but slice of life captures that perfectly
i've personally dived deep into slice of life over the last 8 years of my anime consumption
honestly I think there's a case for expanding the format to western media
