Forget both and get a quality cast iron pan, PERIOD! I did and NEVER looked back!! Screw all this non-stick garbage!!
ОтветитьHow does the Granitestone style pan compare? I prefer mine to the ceramic pans I have used.
ОтветитьOXO have been selling ceramic pan for half a year. Why wasn’t it reviewed yet?
ОтветитьTeflon... discovered???? or invented!!!!!
ОтветитьGreat review! Thanks for all the work.
ОтветитьVery informative. Thanks for the video.
ОтветитьWhat a pleasing and usefully informative video. A++ :)
ОтветитьDoes Dupont still threaten litigation against people talking about teflon's toxicity? Back in the 90's anytime some poor bird owner would write an article warning other bird owners about the dangers of teflon they'd get threatened by Dupont with lawsuits. Just random folks posting about teflon on their geocities website would get threatened lol. I haven't used non-stick in decades.
ОтветитьAren’t both non-stick and “ceramic” made out of super cancerous “forever chemicals” that pollute the environment for centuries to come?
ОтветитьI purchased the Oxo because of ATKs recommendation. Worst pan ever.
Ответитьdo you have video about cast iron
ОтветитьI hope you fed people with the test food, because that is a lot of waste in this starving world.
ОтветитьTy!🎉
ОтветитьMmm tasty PFAs
ОтветитьSkip it. Iron and stainless steel.
ОтветитьDid you test the Greenspan G5 ? I believe that’s the latest ideration?
ОтветитьI've been using a ceramic pan for years. Never going back to teflon coated ones.
ОтветитьWhat about enmal pans. I have Caraway
ОтветитьPTFE should be illegal but GOP lack of regulations means profits come before people's health.
ОтветитьThese forever chemicals are put into our country’s water when they are being manufactured. When you support buying these pans with PTFE forever chemicals, you are part of the problem!
ОтветитьI'd prefer seeing the various ratings not just a one time "best". When I clicked to see the ceramic reviews, the site demanded my email adress before I could proceed. NOT cool.
Ответитьok
ОтветитьI have mauviel cookware and I think this is much better than other products. I also have carbon steel and lodge cast iron pans. But for non stick I prefer my copper mauviel
ОтветитьPlease include Induction Pans in your nonstick reviews! Also where is Hannah Crowley? I recall she was on maternity leave a while ago. Hope all is well!!
ОтветитьCan someone guide me to a video explaining more about nonstick sprays, bc I rely heavily on them!
ОтветитьAnd let the non-stick pan cool before rinsing.
ОтветитьWho Sponsors you ?
ОтветитьIs the no dishwasher advice out of date?
Wasn’t the reason for it that dishwasher soap used to contain micro-plastics, used an abrasive to clean baked on food?
With micro-plastics now outlawed & removed from dishwasher soap, why not put pans in them to get clean?
Why anyone would use anything other than carbon steel for anything but acidic dishes is beyond me. Cast iron is too damned heavy for anything other than coated Dutch ovens.
ОтветитьI wish I could find an 8 inch induction compatible skillet coated with titanium
ОтветитьI hated the ceramic pan I bought, but then I got an Our Place Always Pan® 2.0 as a gift, and it has been wonderful! Of course, though as long as I can lift them, I love my cast iron skillets!
ОтветитьDoes ATK ever consider you have to throw these away, and buy a new one over and over, and how bad that is for the environment? Carbon steel and cast iron last forever, and I'm not sure but I'd think stainless lasts ALOT longer than these options.....I can't recall ATK ever mentioning it.
Ответитьscience. based. communication. 10/10!
ОтветитьCeramic doesn't biodegrade easily either...
ОтветитьGot any ceramic recommendations cheaper than $85? Jesus.
ОтветитьI'd love a comparison of these non stick pans with your recommended traditional pan and a little instruction on how to make it not stick (add oil when it is hot, etc)
ОтветитьPressed carbon steel pans for the win.
I bought the solidteknics on their original Kickstarter run, used every week.
All clad NS1 coating is apparently PFOA free but not PFAS free. PTFE coated products contain PFAS chemicals (polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE), perfluoroalkoxy alkane (PFA), fluorinated ethylene propylene (FEP)). Also the fact it needs to be replaced every 3-5 years is a big no for me. I’ll stay with all-clad stainless steel and other brand ceramics. Sad because I was gifted a brand new ns1 pan stovetops get above 500F easily
ОтветитьOne thing that is not highlighted; if you regularly use a glass lid on the pans, then you need to look for a pan with a non coated edge. Like a metal rim on which the lid can rest. Because if this edge is non stick, then it will for sure rub away the non stick coating and paint layers
ОтветитьOK. You can't just say (figuratively), "A pox on both of these, I'm using high carbon steel", and just walk away from it. Please elucidate.
ОтветитьDon't do this...
Don't do that...
Then don't buy!
It would be great to test the new titanium infused nonstick pans, made without any coatings at all and can handle super high heat! 🔥
ОтветитьStainless steel all the way
ОтветитьI am just an average cook and yet I see no need for any kind of "non stick" I have tri clad pans that were made in France and cost a tiny fraction of what Alclad do and cook everything without a problem.
ОтветитьCast iron is the only skillet you'll ever need.
ОтветитьThey both suck, steel & cast Iron works just fine
ОтветитьThis seems biased towards PFAS non-stick while downplaying its environmental and health issues. If the surface degrades and goes away after a few years, where is it going? It’s going into the air and your food. Also, if you have to put butter or oil on a non-stick pan to warn you when it’s getting too hot… just use non-PFAS non-stick with butter or oil.
ОтветитьCeramic is bullshit. The nonstick only lasts a couple months. It then loses performance. Teflon is way better
ОтветитьFor bullet proof versatility I think I will stick with seasoned carbon steel skillets. They do not have as many “don’ts” as these, as nice as they are, I think seasoned steel is a better kitchen utensil.
ОтветитьGreat reviews - you guys are awesome 🎉
