Waiting for the Jeep wrangler with HO will be called the JHO😂
ОтветитьLooking good. They finslly got it right.
ОтветитьPicked up a well equipped (convenience group, technology group, safety group, automatic, hard top) '24 Rubicon Unlimited with the 2l engine last fall but didn't pay anything close to this Rubicon X's MSRP. Got $12k off of a $64k MSRP. The winch and 35s are nice but the rest is fluff. For the 98% of driving I do, the 33s are fine and I have a 8k lb come-along I bring along if I get into a bind.
ОтветитьThere should be a new generation Wrangler in the next year or two. Didn't this generation debut in 2018?
Ответитьjust got my 2025 2 door X & each time I get in it, I fall in love all over again, 2.0T. I was doing 90 for a 1/2 a min by accident and was shocked how well it drove! 80 no issues.... shocking .............
ОтветитьI likey except for the price tag of course.
ОтветитьPurchased my new 2025 JL Rubicon X for $59,900 in SoCal last month. Deals are out there just have to be patient.
ОтветитьIt has the red around the rubicon so it’s an automatic fail. No the gold is the only one to get 392. Unless you want rocker and lifter failure or plug it in and catch fire
ОтветитьJust bought a Rubi X with a manual transmission. It’s the slowest thing I’ve ever driven but it is just so much fun!
ОтветитьPrimary reason I gave up my ‘21 Rubicon for a Bronco was the drive comfort, especially in the seats. Jeep just needs to take the seats out of the Grand Cherokee and put them in the Wrangler, including venting. When I take it to the beach here in FL every weekend with the top off it’s rather warm driving in the beach. Also can buy a ‘24 leftover Bronco Raptor for what this costs.
ОтветитьWranglers are trash. Poorly made. They can't even compete with the Bronco
ОтветитьRecently bought a 2025 Rubicon X Unlimited with Mojito paint and a manual transmission (that’s a mandatory requirement for me). I was surprised to hear you found the seats uncomfortable – perhaps adjusting the lumbar would help. The seats are just fine for me, but I didn’t have any seat complaints in my 2008 Rubicon 2-door or my 2018 Sport S Unlimited. With the crazy drivers glued to their cellphones, I wanted to upgrade my 2018 Jeep to either a new Bronco or Wrangler to get the safety features, especially the side curtain airbags which my 2018 lacked. I test drove the Bronco and really wanted to like it with its super-cool 7-speed manual transmission, but it was not to be. As you mentioned, the view out the front is troubling with those big wing fenders – it does block too much of the road like a 1970s land yacht. Also, the display in the Bronco looked unfinished like some crude engineering prototype used during vehicle testing rather than a refined, aesthetically pleasing easy source of information. The Jeep’s display is well thought out and just looks great with its high contrast for rapid reading. Love the start up screen, too – you can’t forget you’re driving a piece of American history when that 1941 Jeep stares at you.
Another thing I found lacking in the Bronco was its “feel” – there wasn’t enough for me (yeah, I know this is a terribly subjective and dead-horse-whipping topic, pun intended). When I buy a vehicle, I want some physical responses to what the vehicle is doing. Not too much, but just enough to remind me that I’m a human actively operating a machine, not some passive body melting into a couch. The Bronco felt like a couch to me, and I’m sure this is what the majority of the public wants - that smooth ride no matter the surface. The Bronco just felt disconnected, didn’t seem to have any character, and drove like any other generic SUV designed for comfortable passenger scrolling. The Bronco’s soul (if vehicles can have souls) was purged vis the quest for NVH Nirvana. My 2025 Jeep is definitely more refined than my 2018 Jeep, but no Wrangler can escape the physics of a solid-axle front end. When you go over bumps, you get some feedback. I like that. What I don’t like on my new Jeep is the mushy stock red shocks – I thought the red shocks on the Rubicon would be an improvement over the stock shocks on a Sport S. Nope, same mush. I put Bilsteins on my 2018 right after I bought it and loved the change – the pitching of the nose was significantly reduced and the firmness made the ride more controlled and confidence inspiring in the turns. Bilstein 5100s are on the way for my 2025, and I’ll install them ASAP.
Although I understand the advantages of a slushbox for rock crawling and speed, I only want Jeeps with manual transmissions. It gets back to reinforcing that feeling that I’m operating a machine. The 6-speed manual seems very well matched to the V6. Sure, you can increase the power of the V6 with forced induction, but why? I’ve had plenty of sports cars and, with their refinement, going 90 feels the same as 20. When you’re going fast in a Jeep, you know it. And getting to 60 takes 6 to 7 seconds while you’re rowing through the Jeep’s gears. Sure, blasting to 60 in 3 or 4 seconds is fun, but it’s not appreciably more fun. I can confirm it’s much more fun to drive (and shift) a slow car/Jeep fast than a fast car slow. For my Jeep, “fast” is like 75 or 80.
The Bronco didn’t make the cut for me primarily for sensory reasons, but frankly it’s so much uglier than the Wrangler both inside and out. Thought I was going to get a 2025 Joose Sport S (Joose is their orange color this year) with a few options, but this Mojito Rubicon X was sitting on the lot with all the options I wanted and a whole lot more. No one had even bothered to test drive it in the months it sat on the lot before I got to it. I got a fantastic deal because it has a manual transmission, which is a rare, mostly unwanted option. In fact, when I called up about it, the salesman told me, “You know, this has a manual transmission” since most folks want the slushbox in a Wrangler this loaded. In my book Jeeps should be fun colors (screw those terminally depressing greyscale colors), and the only two colors I was considering was Joose orange and Mojito metallic green. After I saw Joose in person, I’m so glad I got Mojito – it’s beautiful and makes me smile every time I look at it. Took about 6 weeks between the time I test drove my new Jeep and the time we settled on a price that included my 2018 as a trade. I’m now the proud owner of a unicorn Wrangler with a cool winch out front just like the vehicle tested and couldn’t be happier. Well, I’ll actually be happier after I install those Bilsteins…
Yeah, I know, in this market, I’m a dinosaur. And I'm driving a unicorn.
Jeep and its parent companies need to solve the camshaft problem! My 2020 Gladiator Overland at 107k kilometers gave a "cylinder 3 misfire" code, except it's not the spark plugs, ignition coil or fuel injector (replaced all), it's the camshaft! Thankfully Jeep is giving me a "goodwill" warranty to replace the camshaft, however those are on backorder.
ОтветитьHey Tommy and Case it’s Drew from DIA the other day…I actually got handed a Jeep Wrangler hybrid this week in MN…we took the front two top bits off and I was surprised how quiet it was inside…totally agreed on the seats…Tommy looks like he is ready to bounce out of those seats! Hope you guys had a good trip
ОтветитьGecko > mojito. also 392 is the ultimate imho
ОтветитьWorth it or Worthless you be the judge it’s your money they won’t be getting any of my money I would rather find an Good old CJ and spend a third of that money it only needs to get places and drive ok your going to get dings and scratches anyway so a new one doesn’t make sense to me.
ОтветитьBronco is just so much better, this looks outdated
ОтветитьLord they need to pull their heads out of their butts and put COOLED seats (not just ventilated) in the wrangler! Either use piping to the AC, or a peltier cooler. And get rid of the 4wd auto transfer case, at least on rubicons. We don’t want it. Less reliable.
ОтветитьEvery time I see Tommy I wonder how in the heck he got Mary. The success of TFL had to be the biggest contributing factor. She’s been in front of the camera frequently since the marriage.
ОтветитьStay away from Jeep for now, that new ceo screwed the brand by exponentially raising the prices of all Jeep line up, my 23 Rubicon similar to this ($74k) lost it's value by more than 3/4 the moment it drove out of the dealer 🤬
ОтветитьYou must've noticed the huge Uniroyal tire heading out that way on I-94; It's right near those bridges...
ОтветитьI will save some money and get a TRD OR-P 4Runner and use the money I save to upgrade it since you guys just showed what a stock Trailhunter can do. I will sacrifice the off road capabilities of the Rubicon X to have the 98% of my time spent in my vehicle for greater on road comfort.
ОтветитьWhy does no one mention the possibility of the Hurricane inline six when speaking about engine possibilities? The discussion is always Pentastar to Hemi. I think the Hurricane engine would be transformative for the Wrangler/Gladiator vehicles. More horsepower/torque with the absolute smoothest cylinder arrangement available. That's the option I'm hoping to see in the next iteration of the Wrangler family. Of course, we just traded our 2019 Wrangler Rubicon for a 2025 Gladiator Rubicon X, so it's highly unlikely that I'll be buying another Jeep any time soon, even if the Hurricane became an option.
BTW - for the record, our new Gladiator Rubicon X had a sticker price just under $64,000 (it did not include the 35" tires or winch package). With Jeep corporate and dealer incentives, we paid about $48,500. There are some real deals to be had out there right now, folks, so don't be scared off by media chatter about $76,000 prices. There's a LOT of room to negotiate.
As always, thanks for sharing.
Steve
That MSRP is RiDiCuLoUs. I could see MAYBE pricing it that high if it had a Hemi V8 in it (even just the base 5.7) but as it is with the Pentastar… no way. The whole lineup is just way too expensive now.
ОтветитьThis dude is a first class douche 🤡🤦♂️
ОтветитьGot the same one in firecracker- it’s awesome
ОтветитьAll the people that buy this exact model and yet only sees pavement.
ОтветитьNo one to pay it anywhere near that much for an off road vehicle, Jeep, Bronco, whatever
Ответить80K, they nuts
ОтветитьThese look so awesome but that entire powertrain is pathetic for that price
ОтветитьThey are nice but that price is a no go. you have 2023s that some dealerships have neve sold because of price and now they are considered used even though no one has bought them. 2024s still there and 2025s are low numbers because again... no one wants to pay that price. You can buy a used 392 for this price, who is dumb enough to pay that??
ОтветитьFor these prices, I have no reason to continue considering Jeep as a viable option. 🤷🏻♂️
ОтветитьAt that price, buy a slightly used 392 XR.
ОтветитьWranglers would be appealing if they could tow a travel trailer .
ОтветитьWow man, that would be $130k in Oz
Ответитьman i haven’t watched one of these in a while but sure looks like Jeep still has its head in the sand on value for money, and true lack of innovation
Ответить“Classic” 3.6? Does that mean it comes with the cam shaft tick standard?
ОтветитьI rented a brand new 2025 Jeep Grand Cherokee 4x4 (6 cylinder) for a four-day (2,100 mile) trip and I’ve never been more impressed by any other vehicles overall comfort, economy, power and amenities. It’s not the most economical, it’s not the most powerful, it’s not the most comfortable, but it does everything well and doesn’t look like a cookie-cutter, econo-egg. I was quite impressed…
ОтветитьDealers are discounting Big Time !
Ответитьsub 10k mile 392s are $60k.
ОтветитьGuys you get a 4xe for 450$ a month lease ….thats the best
Ответить$71K for a Rubicon is a JOKE. There’s no way I’d ever pay that. I remember I was one of the first in line for a Rubicon that had the new pentastar in it back in 2012. And thank God it wasn’t anywhere near $71K! Add in the fact that I was rewarded with two cylinder head fixes because of the bad head castings or whatever it was.
I did eventually get back to a 2016 JK Sport. Most basic package with just A/c as an option. Think the cost was like $26K. And that’s what I prefer the most. Get back to basics Jeep! Go with the cheap Jeep!!!!
By the way, the wife and I love our current ‘22 Bronco big bend Sasquatch! No problems there. Get your $&@! together Stelantis!
My dealer still has 2024s sitting
Ответить"iconic" is not a word i would use to describe the pentastar. "notoriously awful" is much better.
Ответить$70k for a jeep and you called the Ineos too expensive or hypocritically not worth it (pre tariff) for a much better built rig. 😂😂. 😲🤔
ОтветитьI bought my first Jeep last October, an Anvil Nighthawk Gladiator with the 3.6L. I really like it. It has just enough modern technology while still being an old-school truck. The build quality is surprisingly good and the V6 has plenty of power. It's just fun to drive and at $39K a pretty good value.
ОтветитьWhy couldn’t they just offer the Jeep with the 5.7 Hemi. Most people want a bit more power than the V6 but don’t need the 392. The 5.7 would be a sweet spot and they would probably sell a lot of them
ОтветитьWhy did Tommy get rid of his two door willys? Yall had several videos on it and just never posted an update. Similar with yalls series of Tumbleweed ranch?
ОтветитьCosts more than my first house.
