im a mercedes and LH fan, yes them not giving lewis an extension and an ambassadorial role sucks (since he's the one who made them what they are on and off the track ) BUT what toto said about "everyone having a shelf life" isnt wrong, why did ferrari let go of schumi? im sure lewis certainly isnt what he was in like 2018 or smt (however he's still one of the best drivers on the grid) but he's getting reaching the end of hus career, if you dont think he's getting old and wants to do smt else youre in a delusion (still doesnt take away that hes one of the best drivers atm), toto might just want a future proof plan, in another 7 years (maybe more maybe less) max will be in the talks of getting replaced

Lewis Hamilton is not the problem at Mercedes; the team principal is responsible for the "team's" failures. Lewis made a few driver errors across three seasons: car concept failure, chassis/aero-design, engine development, and suspension; those belong to Toto Wolff.

It’s funny you read through these comments and see all this distain for Toto because LH went behind his back and negotiated a deal with Ferrari. All you see is how Mercedes didn’t offer him an ambassador role, but they have never offered any active driver that role. Hamilton is a great driver but there are several drivers who would have won Championships in that Mercedes car when he was winning. Mercedes and Toto didn’t negotiate behind Hamilton’s back he did that to them but Mercedes and Toto get all the hate for the deal being done. Seems a bit hypocritical in my opinion and I like Hamilton as a driver but if you think he is just going to go to Ferrari and dominate Leclerc you are kidding yourself. The Ferrari cars usually take some time to adapt to and with only one year and then a whole new regulation it could be painful to watch. I understand you British truly have your lips firmly planted on the base but again Hamilton is the one who negotiated his own exit in SECRET, didn’t give Toto or Mercedes a heads up or anything. Now imagine how you would feel if you gift wrapped 5 WDC to a driver and they stabbed you in the back that way.

It's strange to see a 7 WC is struggling with a car, but he probably tries the impossible, in terms of changes to the set-up, to have a drivable car on the grid. It's not that he all of a sudden can't drive a car anymore. If the difference between HAM/RUS would be comparable to Max/Checo, people would think otherwise, but that's not the case. HAM is one of the most experienced drivers out there and Mercedes is just not delivering! I wish HAM all the best with Ferrari!
